Resident Evil 2 stopped working all of a sudden today.
The game only shows black screen and starts in window mode by default. I don't hear any sounds either. I can still switch to fullscreen using alt+ent and the resolution it changes to in fullscreen mode is the resolution that I got when I started the game for the first time.
I tried deleting the config files but nothing worked. googling for black screen issue didn't give me much info either.
I had to uninstall the game now and now redownloading it in hopes that it will start working again. Downloading it again will take hours. Oooof.

After killing every single zombies and creatures other than the zombies on gas station and first street [since you can't go back there], this is the amount of resources I had left lol:
Of course it doesn't make the game any less survival horror since having this much ammo was impossible on first run due of lack of knowledge and panic. But I think it was a good choice by the devs. Cause this way it's actually possible to kill almost everything without dying even once if you don't miss your shots too much and use correct combination of weapons on each creatures. And it's kinda fun too this way.

So... Do you guys remember before the game was released that according to some rumors, Capcom was gonna implement both fixed camera angles and over the shoulder?
It seems the rumors were true. Early dev builds had fixed cameras. And they even experimented with first person (only when aiming though).

It's a shame how they cut too many things. People are blindly defending this game. It's not that it's a bad game. It's still a great game. But if they had to cut all these things and create weird story consistency problems among 1st run and 2nd run, they should have delayed the game for another 1~2 years.
But for me personally, the worst part was cutting any proper street segment for Leon's campaign. Like what the hell, why didn't Leon get any street segment like Claire? Racoon street was my favorite part. Hopefully in future, Capcom updates the game to give Leon an extended street segment, at least in 2nd run.
It also looks like G1's fight would have been more creative in a ways like you could stop Birkin by opening steam valves and some shit instead of that "running in circles" fight we got. It also looked like there was a possibility of having co op campaign. Personally I'm glad that they focused solely on single player. But an afterthought co op campaign wouldn't hurt.

Seeing Leon and Claire together in that video hurt my soul for a moment because I really wished that'd been in the final game. That, or as you said, an afterthought co-op campaign. (What I'd prefer to think of as "DSC" mode, since they're together 24/7 there.)
It'd also give them more of a chance to properly interact more over what we got in the final product.
Yeah that would fix the problem of Leon not having street segment, not meeting Sherry, etc.
Hopefully they add a coop story mode. I will buy that if that's a dlc. However, I don't think they'll ever consider doing that since they won't bother making new motion caps and voice acting again.

BTW. I changed the name of this thread to "Resident Evil 2 remake revealed" to "Resident Evil 2 remake released"

I think accusing people of "blindly" defending the game is just ignorant. I'm fully aware they cut stuff, I just don't give a shit because it didn't impact the experience.

Not calling everyone blind, but the people on random YouTube comment section who are going apeshit just because I said I miss the cut creatures. And there are so many of them filling up my notification that I had to delete the comment to rest in peace.

God, the fact that we will never get a true remake infuriates me. The truth is that I will never understand why the fake RE fans always become so toxic flipped by only having a new RE4.

Damn, I am soooo hype for this game. Jan 25, 2019 can't get here fast enough. Hey! i was wondering if there was a mod out there that increased the number of zombies in the RE: 2 Remake? I've recently played the full game with the First person Mod & was wondering what else i can do to add more re-playability to the game. after you get the Infinite weapons it becomes kinda easy & would love to just increase all the zombies in the game across the board!. ~ Thanks!

Now that I've played this game for over 90+ hours, I can say that it was definitely worth buying. It's a very good game, one of the best.
Being that said, the hype has gone down now and so has my bias on this game. I finally played Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles again and I must say this,
RE Darkside Chronicles is a better game than REmake2.
Overall presentation of REmake2 felt more like a nostalgia tribute but story presentation was more solid on RE DSC. Not to mention all the creatures were there in RE DSC.
Boss fights were better in RE DSC [Some of it were due to railshooter nature of the game but other's like Super Tyrant, Alligator, Birkin final were obviously better in RE DSC]. Even though the game was rail shooter, it managed to explore some of the areas of RE2 more than REmake2.
So, what's the conclusion? Both are good games. Buy both of these games. But in my opinion, RE DSC is better than REmake2. Fortunately, we can play both of these games.
