The Leon lookalike Zombie that attacks Leon and Claire in the police car is nowhere to be seen in the remake. I wonder if we will see a zombie that looks like Leon in the REmake 2?

God damn it, received the censored Japanese Biohazard version again.
Oh well, looks like I will be playing using my GFs worldwide Resident Evil 2 version again.

DarkSamus lives in Australia, and this has happened to him before where the version he got on steam turned out to not be the US/EU version but the JPN censored version.

I'm loving the RE2 remake right now but F@*K does it take A LOT to down zombies in this game, really missing the RE4 stagger and melee combination here lol, does add to the survival horror element though.

DarkSamus was the one shot demo censored too in your case? Or was that uncut version? I only received the regular Biohazard 2 and only because it was gifted to me from a friend in Japan. My GF got the proper RE2 (Full Violence) when she bought it in the steam store.
This time around Japan only received one copy of Bio2 so there is no "grotesque edition"
I always use a VPN but that didn't help either and the demo was not censored for me at all.

I see. So if you had bought the game yourself from Steam, then you would have gotten the uncut version. The demo being uncut was an indicator for that.
That's a relief then I guess? Cause my demo was uncut too, so if I buy it myself from steam instead of getting gifted by someone [who is in Japan], then I will get the uncut version right?
Is it possible for you to re-buy the game though? Or once you get gifted, your account is permanently linked with the censored version?

Are the original OST worth buying? I'm not really interested in the dlc costumes but looks like I can buy the original OST with standard edition separately and costs about only 3 bucks.
Also, the widescreen fix that worked in the demo, doesn't work on the full game unfortunately. And then there's another issue where removing the vignette causes bug on some textures. Hopefully it can be fixed but I haven't bought the game yet. So I can't fiddle with the exe yet.

Pretty easy really  You will be fine mate and will get the same version your demo was. I haven't tried out the original soundtrack yet. Something of note though is although I got Biohazard 2 I did get a collection of 20 wallpapers with mine which my GF didn't get and I must admit they look pretty awesome.

Hopefully it's possible to mod the textures in this game and make them transparent. It's really needed cause the vignette effect in this game sucks. The game is already dark and the vignette makes it way too dark on the sides. And that's not the only issue. On 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions the vignette literally covers the sides of the screen:
It's possible to remove the vignette by hex editing but that also removes man other effects and breaks the lighting. Here's an example:
See those weird lighting? That happens if vignette is removed via hex editing. So now the only way to remove vignette is by only editing the vignette texture and making it transparent. And if it's not a texture, maybe it won't be possible to fix it at all, rendering 21:9 and other wider aspect rations useless and also ruining 16:9 to some extent.
Edit: Is no one really bothered about how washed out the game looks even with hours of calibration and fiddling with ingame brightness settings? Here's some quick 30 seconds of photoshopping just to bump the contrast and fixing black levels a bit:
Oh and the game looks okay on brightly lit areas but everytime you enter the hallways with flashlight, the black levels get screwed and you end up with this washed out image. Yeah you can lower the brightness way too low to make it look black but then you can't see shit even where the flash light is being pointed at and when you come to brightly lighted room, it looks too dark. And the contrast remains poor regardless of your brightness settings.
It's a bit disappointing but looks like Capcom pulled the Revelations 2 again. What a waste of good assets ruined by washed out lighting. They should have added more options in game to change black levels and contrast. The chances of them adding these things with future update is almost zero cause I've been googling around about the washed out graphics of re2 and the amount of biased comments I saw.. there's really no hope.
