Ok the poster really doesn't look that good from the faces wise... but ingame it looks pretty good so far. and the pre order bonus also sounds tempting... Actually i hope we get some stuff for Ada and Hunk D: but yay costumes are back. XD I hope the also bring maybe RE4 and RE6 costumes for Leon and Ada. And Claire original RE2 costume. Or classic costume pack for all charas.
Edit: Some infors from Capcom it seems?

i can't understand that what is wrong with the original models which they already have?
personally it was impossible for me if someone was showing me these models and asking me for recognizing them without the title
just a ponytail and a red wear is gonna make everyone claire?!
or just that ultra iconic hair style will be enough to make everyone leon!
please capcom
for God sake
just use the original models of re:dc's cutscens
or at least put them into the game as bonus or as a dlc

In my opinion. These models are Totally recognisable. If someone showed me Leon and Claire without telling me what I was looking at, It wouldn’t be a problem.
Fits in well with the New RE Engine and just all around look great.
Using DC models just wouldn’t work and probably wouldn’t fit in at all.
atleast we don’t have another RE7 Chris situation on our hands.

OMG, I am so excited right now. Time to bring in my inner fanboy, lol. Regardless of being on PC I'm probably getting it on ps4 first. I don't like to mod games until I reached that point in a game where I like it so much that I ran out of content. Happend to RE5, hence why I bought it on PC just to mod. But I bet you if they don't have their original models as costumes then I don't doubt that modders will be making them. Can't wait for the game and to see how modders gonna mod.

Sounds like the Game will let you choose between OTS And Fixed Camera angles.
from the press release:

Big companys like Capcom will "from now on" always just randomly cast cheap available actresses/actors and scan them 1 to 1 into their games without any artistic vision or craft behind it. Canon is long gone and things like loyality have the fewest people, they just dont care. These people wouldnt even mind if their own mother would be replaced with a random actress, so dont expect any of the current generation to have any loyality. Changing an established charakters face is an immerson execution and i dont accept it. Photogrammetrie is the biggest "pizza pasta" "video games" ever created. Killing Artist and replace them with "pizza pasta". Why even bother, puting some cheap particle effect above it and all the amateurs are convinced. I had seen enough of that "pizza pasta" at university. Edit i censored my rage with "pizza pasta". just because

OK since everyone is stating their opinion, then I can state mine too.
In my perspective, face-structure wise,
LEON
It is based on his RE6 + RE4 looks, but HOW? Here's how.
Brows - RE4-ish, but it got a thicker eyebrows.
Eyes - Completely new
Nose - RE4-ish
Lips- RE4-ish with adjustment
Jaw - RE6
Chin - RE6 (those dimples)
Hair - Completely new. It TRULY resembles 90's hair to me, (remember DiCaprio on Titanic? I guess the hair is on point)
And that's how he is pretty recognizable. Even when I see him 4 the 1st time on screen, I immediately recognize him by his FACE, not his hair.
I mean, "cosplayers"? C'mon now. That's too harsh.
BUT I like the looks of him INGAME, not in the posters. Yes, I agree that he looks kinda "odd" in the posters, but ingame he looks decent to me, and most people recognizes him.
Claire
Well, I guess she is based on her DC looks. I couldn't elaborate more, but it looks closest to it MINUS her red hair, cuz now it's somehow "reddish-dark brown".
Her overall face resembles her DC looks, with a more "chubby" cheeks and such (INGAME)
POSTER
Well, that is just a poster. We've seen how Leon and Claire's facial structure ACTUALLY moved ingame and THAT is what important from the game. Well, you can't rate the game by the posters only, but in this case, I agree they look weird in the posters (specially claire) but ingame they look totally OK.
Since CAPCOM is using their "Realism Approach" on the characters, ofc they look more "human" now. I mean, seriously no way Leon will have his hair "perfect" like REDC or RE4 in a zombie apocalypse of Raccoon City. In RE4, REDC, ReMake, they were going into "anime-like" faces, that's why the characters look outstandingly handsome and pretty. BUT, Now Capcom is going into a different route. So, now CAPCOM made his hair look a little "messy" (less smooth) and the waves of his hair look "believable". (his hair is incredibly straight in previous games)
Also, Claire. I guess the "Bright Red Hair" look kinda "not suitable" in a zombie outbreak, and I guess Capcom made a great job on her face ingame.
In real life, well no one would actually look like RE4 Leon or REDC Claire. Even Leon's face model, Christian Duerre got his face "adjusted" in the 3D model to make it look perfect. There won't be those "perfect" faces in such realistic approach, but in Devil May Cry games, ofc there will be those perfect faces. But in a realistic-approach game like this, I guess they look decent the way it is. Just my opinion.
PS : AT LEAST they look better than Chris in RE7. When I see Chris 4 the 1st time in RE7, I was like "Who's this guy?"
And also, AT LEAST we got a REMAKE, so let's appreciate it for now.

Every other character in these two trailers at least resemble the original character; but Claire looks and sounds nothing like her... her look is iconic (also hate that they dropped Leon's voice actor) and bothered by them saying they listen and then do the opposite what people asked for (after revelations 2, they saw how people where upset and even made it appear they where going after the original cast again, but then they just dropped that idea). She looks more like Alex Wesker now... this is not appreciated... They had the newer CGI films to reference for these main characters and decided no they should have a generic look. The positive is that so far other stuff besides Claire looks ok, but as Claire is my favorite Resident Evil character it's not of to a great start. Also looks like they gave Dante's brothers hat from DMC to Claire's Tyrant friend Mister X....
man... Leon's new voice actor... not at all working for me... also I heard no music themes from resident evil...
...will try and reserve judgement until we see more...

I like everything shown so far EXCEPT the voice actors. I miss Matt Mercer. Wonder if it was a corporate decision or Critical Role and DBS ate at him.
