we are here to preventing of another bad remake and " Ca$hcom" should listen to our words and our wishes all of good companies care about their costumers and of course that is the most logical manner Unfortunately nobody from Capcom browses this forum. We are just talking about these games among ourselves.

Thanks for the kind words seda , but I'm no professional. I just played a lot of games. This gave me basic knowledge about design and allowed me to logically deconstruct gameplay decisions (how this affects that and so on...). I like how the games have evolved over the years and how basic tpp controls have been basically locked in. The challange now is to adapt these contols to different gameplay styles so that the game design doesn't interfere with freedom of movement, etc. These games can still control like action games but with some tweaks to the gameplay can acheve have their own identity without feeling clunky or outdated. And that is basically how I feel about the classic RE design. Not so long ago I played RE remake and 0 for the first time and while these games are fine in their own right there is not much that you can do to improve this design. Actually the best thing about them is that they reverted to the simplicity of RE1 and 2- no bullshit long range enemies, no dualwielding, no upgradable ammo and the like. So if they discarded nearly every advancement made after RE2 it's a clear sign to me that they too thought that this doesn't fit this style. This is why I was trying to find ways to translate RE2 to third person without sacrificing any advancements in terms of control that were made to this day. The game was mostly tight spaces so there would be little to no room for them to move out of the line of fire. There also would have to be less enemies per location, because this isn't an action game and they would move in lines most of the time anyway due to corridor nature of the rooms. So how would you prevent a player from taking them out from afar other than turning them into bullet sponges. If the monsters aren't given a chance to aproach the player to actually pose a threat the game loses all potential for any tension or challange. Which is not something you want out of a RE game. So my solution was simple- remove the ability for the player to aim properly, and have them use their better judgement when calling out the shots. This allows any monster to come closer for a chance to dish out some damage and with limited supplies of ammunition forces the player be more carefull when using it. If you want to make most of what you have you either have to be really good to be able to shoot something before it has a chance to attack or risk getting attacked with the ability to fight back without wasting precious ammo on shots that miss the mark. Or avoid fightinh altoghether- that works too. After playing some RE4 whithout using the lasersight I'm certain that this is doable but to actually execute this properly it would require tight and carefully though throgh design which I'm pretty sure people at Capcom are incapable of. So, yeah, while I wish it would be so, I know they won't do it. But one can always dream.

thank you very much guys for reply but about: " Unfortunately nobody from Capcom browses this forum. We are just talking about these games among ourselves" yes probably you are right but i think we must do something this time re5 was boring for me and if there wasn't modding maybe i never install and play it again but i didn't say anything because at least one of my old friends loved that but when re6 released i realized that they are going to destroy it forever very soon (of course it has lot of fans in here and i respect them so much, but also must of old fans were very angry about that) (i personally wasn't angry, to be honest, at least modeling was perfect and also graphic and framerate) and yes it was a best seller but they never thought why? this is the why! www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/million.htmlResident Evil 2
Release : Jan 1998
Platform : PS
Units : 4.96 million unitsno chance for download - less budget and employee less stores in those years and also less gamers one console and no re6 fans!! Resident Evil 6
Release : Oct 2012
Platform : PS3, Xbox 360, DL
Units : 6.6 million units3 console - download version - more budget and teams and lot of new ways for advertising and much more new gamers including old fans maybe other fans just take this franchise as a game but i respect it cause of something else (i find half of my best old friends in those years cause of same interest about this game, thanks to my old lovely capcom) but what we can do: number 1: sending email to capcom and not just one email, we are more than 5000 member just in this forum and of course there are much more all around the world just thinking about 5000 email (just our forum) perhaps (of course) they don't read all of those but at least they will understand this has a mean number 2: ignoring re7 because it's a very big abusing of fans just by a title on their new experience just because they don't want to risk, so they thought R.E fans are insurance and assurance for them!!! and this Thought and Ethic is completely offensive and i can't accept it so best act about this insult is just ignoring by not to buy (my opinion) @all dear members
please say your opinions to capcom RE2 Remake... What do you think it should be...

You forget that RE2 was also ported and rereleased all over the place- PS1 had 2 versions, as did the pc, it was also on N64, Dreamcast and Gamecube. It was also released (and still available for purchase) as a download for PS3, so unles you factor in sales of all those versions you can't really tell which sold better.
I don't think emailing Capcom will do any good- it is still their property and the fact that it's near and dear to our hearts means nothing to them. All you can really do is not to buy their games if you don't like them. Even if they were to listen to us, with so many different opionions here, how do you think they would create a game that would satisfy everyone?

Don't forget the Tiger Game.Com port Haha. Must've skipped my mind for some reason:P. I also stumbled onto this: An unauthorised RE2 tech demo for the GBA. How cool is that? I love how the zobmies jump backwards after being shot like it's some B movie.

When they announced their amount sales about a product, it's an ended count on pointed platform but yeah maybe it's just a mistake in explaining by financial group or maybe website manager (although i don't count on) also i said my point of view in situations and conditions part and i want to know what is the point of making product for sale when you think this is my property! and i wanna make it just as a personal taste! so i don't wanna care about costumers, fans, buyers, and every body else but myself!! and about opinions and satisfying all fans: please believe that it's not impossible and not even hard to do as we all know already what fans made just by their own hands, alone and without any budget or any help... what we want?most of fans just want to see a part of raccoon city inside the game with a 3rd view just as an extension that's it. is it so much? all of other stuff are just some details which adding those stuff is like a drinking water for a big company like capcom even for modders and those are just added extra stuff and if someone doesn't like, simply doesn't use or choose, as easy as a click! non of fans are looking for a fifa or ace combat or witcher or clash or angry birds! or guitar hero or forza or nba live! or.... inside the re2 are they!? are we? so what is the big deal?! oh my... how much i speaking lately! please forgive me if i said something absurd or senseless and thank you very much for reply dear Rtoo

To be honest I didn't quite understand what you had in mind when you posted those sales numbers, just wanted to point out that the data is incomplete and thus I don't know whether it can be used to point out something or other. When I was interested in this I remember that sales wise it was always between RE2 and RE4 with RE5 being third in terms of units sold, maybe it has shifted somewhat from that time. Anyways I found it rediculous then that people though that the RE remake on Gamecube underperformed when it sold not that much less than RE4 on the same platform (well a million or a half a million units is much but when you have a couple of million in reserve it's hard to call that a failure).
Regarding RE2 and what we want- this really isn't the first thread that covers this subject. I was pretty surprised that it was created considering that there were others with the same intent in mind already (I even posted in one some time ago). But to the point- the requests here are really the tip of the iceberg- most revolve around static cameras vs. tpp, but I've seen poeple wishing that it was coop, for instance. As we concluded that changing perspectives pretty much require building a new game, adding coop with both styles doubles this ammount. And what of people, who want a more open world experience in raccoon city or people who like the over the top combat of RE6. I'm sure you understand that budgets aren't made from rubber and satisfying all those requests would make them bloat like hell, and I'm pretty sure that RE2 remakes budget is smaller than that of RE7. Do you really think that such a game is possible?

i was researching about game making and somehow i realized that making 3d game with a over shoulder camera is very easier than a pre rendered with lot of adjusted statics cameras
so actually we gave them a relief and relaxation by asking a re4 view
therefore they should give us a alternative way by adding at least a part of raccoon city
but i guess at the end they will relax themselves by a 3rd view without adding classic view or a city way and going to say yep! we did exactly what you wanted to have!

Wow looks like its all already been said pretty much....Original areas all upgraded with new graphics with perhaps brand
new areas? The city for instance perhaps if more exploration could be done there before the Racoon City Police Department.
um....mercenaries game mode as well? With high scores unlocking weapons, costumes etc.....
I sincerely hope they recreate the original experience but then add new experiences like the Gamecube remake of Resident Evil 1.
Edit: Oh & gore....Lots & lots of GORE !!
MORE GOOOOOOOOOOOOORE !!!!

Yes, we need GORE.
I hated RE5 badly cause it didn't felt organic cause no gore. RE rev was exception but I liked it cause it was scary. I liked Re6 because of it's organic Gore and controls.
We need gore. Or the game will suck badly. NO GORE=MUCH BULLET SPOnGE FELL, dem feels.

I've been trying to find an image but I cant. There was a shotgun attack that separated the zombies upper body
from lower body but the zombies upper body still crawled towards you. I miss that too. I don't think the chainsaw
attack had come to the franchise yet not until R.E 4 so it would be great to see some new weaponry too. Perhaps
the player could get the chain saw for a change !

i think they should add an option for those fans who loves to see more gore honestly i prefer to play it with less violence and gore and also capcom and all companies are looking for a better rating by esrb but the original game already had lot of gore so they have to satisfy those fans who loved the game with that style by the way ohhh man, that screen shot... That photo made me remember all the memories i've seen and watched many zombies in movies and full hd video games which those used lot of polygons , hd textures , materials and new visual effects but i still love those lowpoly zombies more than all of new ones ( maybe just 50 poly! they used!!! ) their voices was just a hhhooooooo or something like that i wish capcom bring them back (all models and characters and sounds) just as a mode to play it makes the remake more lovely for old fans

Why would you push for 'teen' rating for a game that starts with this warning screen If you want less gore, buy the german version.

I would like to see more options perhaps going both ways, I'm honestly a little puzzled why you would be bothered by gore
in a zombie game but more options for customizing our personal games I agree! Some games would turn blood into
a green colour but I never liked that. I would prefer none as an option if they force green blood. Gore is so much fun in
games but just to be clear I don't like actual death & destruction like genocide. Video game gore though? All day for me
all day lol
