Hello.
Each time I was saving for the last time and using a crate before facing G or Mr. X, I realized I had a ridiculous amount of ammo left, and I always ended up not using half of it.
I then decided to search for a mod that would allow the game to be more challenging, by cutting out some of the ammo you can find in the game. I was surprised when I realized there wasn't a mod for that, so I decided to make it myself.
The thing is, I don't know anything about how to make a mod, which is why I'm here : I can't find any tutorial that seems to be helpful for what I intend to do.
Does anyone know anything that would help me ?

The closest mod that comes to mind is the Headshot mod on Nexus. Comes in 2 versions. Both enable instant death when popping off headshots and leaves weak points more vulnerable, while the other gets rid of most healing items and ammunition... if not all of it! One thing about this mod that might get under some people's skin is the fact that you can down Tyrant in one shot every time. I have yet to do a complete playthrough with the mod so I couldn't tell you whether or not the headshot applies to all bosses. I personally love it as it adds both realism as well as a challenge for those seeking one. Here is the link: Headshot and Almost No Items Mod

The mod Mike linked might be what you are looking for, otokamen. I used it myself but stopped using it right before reaching Birkin G-1. It's really great, a true survival experience BUT as mentioned by Mike, a single hit can kill a licker or down the Tyrant which is a bummer. If I'm not mistaken, learning hex editing to remove/change the items found in the environment is your best bet in case you'd like to work on your own mod. This thread or this one might be of some use to you (the second link is for RE3 2020 but I guess things work more or less the same). I'm not aware of any other thread regarding hex editing though, sorry. Hopefully someone will be able to give better advice soon.

OK I feel very stupid right now, I've been learning basic hex editing and going through tutorials on how to make a mod for RE2, but here's the thing : when I go to Steam/steamapps/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2, there's no more folder. It's the only Steam game I have with that few files. I guess it's normal, but I'm stuck. Help ?

otokamenThere is mod for this, well, trainer for re3 remake and re2 remake, in this trainer you can increase HP of all enemies (making all ammo important) and also increase their movement speed. You can also turn off those stupid icon popup for more immersive gameplay. I managed to finish the game with 40% movement speed and 50% more HP on HC dificulty. It was fun and hard. Next run 50% movement and 100% HP, this way everything is important you should not have extra. Check this page, you will understand it axe.rs/forum/threads/resident-evil-3-remake.44313/page-2

Help ? you would need to extract the game pak files. there's a thread on here that explain the step by step on how to do that, and then you can find which folder/file to edit in order to do your hex editing. i'm currently doing the same for RE3 now trying to get more ammo into the game haha

I just tried doing that by following exactly what this thread says.
Even the files that would allow me to find some files I don't have, I don't have. I'm just stuck at this point. Am I doing something wrong or am I doing something very wrong ?
