Yeah new guy. Um, have been kinda working this out tonight on my own...thief, near as I can tell is russian, and his script stemmed from work on another site, which I'll just copy here: Могу поделиться тем, что нарыл сам. Текст находится в архивах с расширением udas, в файлах типа MDT. В одном файле скомпилирован текст на всех шести языках, первым идет японский, потом английский и дальше все остальные. Текст в кастомной кодировке, анлийский алфавит начинается с: 0xA6 - A, 0xA7 - B, 0xA8 - C, и т.д. по порядку сначала заглавные, потом строчные буквы. Шрифт в оригинальной версии находится в архиве font.dat, вот один из них В HD версии я шрифтов пока не нашел. зы Полную кодировку всех символов можно увидеть по шрифту, первый символ это пробел, код - 0x80, дальше к примеру, 0х83 - 0, 0х84 - 1, и т.д. Reason I mainly post, is to learn something that feels like it should be really simple but I'm missing it somehow. But also because, later on in the thread that post is from, they seem to suggest that they still don't know what format it's in even uncompressed, then again, not so great with the Russian. I've only decompressed files from the texture folders, and what they're doing is solely limited to localizing the game, so they're looking at fonts and such. Круто Молоток ! Does anyone know of a texture pack which is used at the very start of the game? All 44000xxx files are environmental textures where xxx = original room number So 44000100.pack.lfs is first area 44000101.pack.lfs is the "pueblo" 44000102.pack.lfs in the cave area... Well at least 101 is "pueblo" for sure I'm assuming the rest

I unpacked more than 400 files and i couldn´t find the first area yet. but try this one: 0d11c000.pack.yz2" , these are the packed textures for the cutscene in the cabin where Louis talk about Ahsley´s "ballistics" just go to Movie Browser and load that cutscene.
EDIT: Albert is right 44000100.pack.lfs is first area , removing this file from texture folder, made my game crash in the first area

www.tzarsectus.com/temp/YZ2tool.rarPeople can try this version. I tried repacking 44000100.pack and it didn't lead to a crash. There's also batch files for unpacking and repacking everything in the current directory. Note that it doesn't add the "yz2" extension when repacking. Remember to keep the texture pack directories clean. If you add extra files there, the tool will try to add them, and that'll mess things up. I don't think I'll bother creating a tool for the LFS files as the quickbms script works fine, and the game is okay with loading uncompressed files. Edit: Small update where it keeps the "yz2" extension for texture packs which had it. Don't think it really matters, but might as well have that there.
