Not so fast, we just crossed the first gate, some files have more than one type of compression, like textures, we can´t mod textures yet, same with model swap, we need more tools to decompress textures and unpack/repack .UDAS files, and .TPL image files, i don´t know about texures but i think Sectus can do something about .UDAS and .TPL files ,most of these files are just merged raw data like .DAT files from the old RE4 PC port.

Yes, I think it's the same with files inside Imagepack folders. I opened one of those yz2 files (after extracted from the lfs) as raw image with photoshop and it looked like a column of several corrupted textures.

One step closer. Hopefully it won't be much longer now before someone figures the rest out.

I don't think there's any compressed files beyond LFS. Textures are a bunch of packed files where nothing is compressed. I haven't looked at it in detail, but I think the header just lists the number of files and then a series of offsets to each texture. I recognize normal DDS files in there, and then there's at least one other format which I don't recognize. I tried copying a DDS texture out of a texture pack and it worked: www.tzarsectus.com/RE4HD/misc/test.ddsI don't think TPL are textures, they're way too tiny. UDAS files I can't comment on. They're uncompressed but I don't know what kind of data is in there. Once I find some free time I can see if I can make a unpacker/repacker for the texture packs, but if someone else wants to go at it, they should feel free to do so. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like a very straightforward format.

Would it be crazy for me to expect that we will also be able to access and modify the models of the characters and the environments?

Good to know textures are not compressed TPL are small textures (due Gamecube hardware limitations), you´ll find bump maps and packed textures for special effects inside these files. Inside UDAS you´ll find ,character´s models, animations and more TPL files with bump maps. Stage files are packed inside UDAS too. Do you think you can add support to texture files, UDAS and TPL in your arctool?
