When I saw the trailer and saw the words Kitchen I was like: "oh no.... Kitchen was a capcom thing.... Don't tell me..." and then the vil popped up.
I usually am very open to see what the games are actually like when they come out, but this first person VR thing (I know VR is not required, and just a possibility) but this looked more like outlast or something than RE.
I'm willing to wait and see what comes off this but for now I'm definitely not excited.

This is totally what i expected, a simple pseudo Horror walking simulator.
Residents Evils best selling points for me are always the characters,
and second the awesome gameplay of the later games, but this one seems to have none of this.
Sorry but games cant scare me, i have never enjoyed this type of games, because they are totally lame if you dont get scared or feel uneasy.
I prefer playing any older RE Game so far again and again, as games like RE7.
At least not a Reboot and so far not this "whole world" in danger crap.
I expected RE7 to turn out like this, but i still had some hopes that it could be a masterpiece again.
So far i prefer 1 Mercenaries stage of RE 4,5 or 6 above the whole RE7 game.
kinda really disappointed.
I am not even curious about the story for now..................

If some years ago someone told me that Resident Evil will become a VR First Person thing I would laugh at him a lot. And here we go, it's really happening..
RIP characters, RIP gameplay, RIP Resident Evil, hell there even wont be any interest of modding that thing. First person.. even worse .. VR first person.. which means pure absence of gameplay.. I've no words.
And I thought RE6 was bad... well..
Why the hell even leave Resident Evil name on this piece of game...

This is completely not what I wanted from RE7 at all. Considering Capcom has always had a mainline RE game in development, and considering it was only 1-2 years ago Takeuchi announced that the Resident Evil team was working on an engine specifically for VR, I'm super curious what happened during development of RE7. I would expect them to have done a full reboot of the game's development, and I'm really curious what the previous version(s) looked like.
It feels weird to say as a huge RE fan, but without a doubt I'm skipping this game. Hopefully the sales are so poor it convinces Capcom to do something different for RE8 (ie, actually make something which resembles an RE game).

Me and my friends were waiting for your reaction, Sectus. Pretty spot on, but I feel like Silent Hills and Outlast crowd will pick it up. Some critics also praise the "horror".
Which leads to a conclusion that it might get scores better than 6 and thus has a chance of getting even higher sales. Meanwhile most upvoted comments under the trailer video on RE channel are mostly complaints from core fans, which isn't a bad thing.
It killed off the hype to most RE fans/friends I know, but I and a couple of more will be still picking it up. Part of us theorize that this might me the Tanker mission of MGS2 and the real plot and characters we know kick in later on. But that's if staying quite optimistic. However, it's confirmed that it's 100% first person, there should be some gunplay involved.
