Hello Everybody and welcome to the party,
today we're having a crazy one!
Party hosted by: LegalSoul (extracting the models, rigging, animation edits, audio edits and everything else in the mod)
GRAND thanks to Son of Persia , for the tools, information, and tutorials!
Special thanks to infern4l , for the helpful information about the animations.
Also thanks to Angelglory from sounds-resource.com for extracting sounds from the DMC3.
A LOT of models, music, images and sounds were taken from Devil May Cry 3 game (also a bit from DMC4).
Introduction:
It's 2015. This year is very special for me personally. 10 years ago, back in 2005, our world got two CAPCOM games which were Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 3. I can't express how much I like both of these games. They are probably my most favourite games ever. And eventhough their universes are very different one from another, we all remember, that Devil May Cry 1 originally was intended to be a RE game. That's why there's something common about these two series, that makes them kind of twin brothers with different tempers. And I always wanted to bring something of DMC3 into the RE4. But when I searched DMC3 models, I found out, that the only extracted models are the gameplay ones, and they are... well, to put it mildly they are not very good. That's far far away from what we've seen see in DMC3 cutscenes and that dissapointed me because the quality of the models was too poor to import them. So, I had to leave that idea.
About 8 months ago for some reason I was messing with DX3DRipper program, that rips full 3d scenes from games and suddenly remembered that most of DMC3 PC cutscenens are in-engine. And I tried to capture a scene right from an in-engine cutscene. You can't imagine my excitement when it worked and captured the scene completely! Though, the geometry and normals were fucking broken almost everywhere. But how could that stop me? I had a lot of "fun" time fixing the geometry, and manually t-posing the characters from their random cutscene poses. So, the models aren't actually extracted, they're more like captured. I've also added some polygons here and there.
It took me about 8 months to make this mod and now I finally can share it!
OKAY, the party's starting NOW!
Gameplay demo video goes first. Luckily i have better hardware this time, so there're no fps problems!
1. VIP party guests:
1.1. Dante.
Replacing Leon in main story and mercs. Normal costume.
Also You probably remember that RE4 engine renders transparency damn awfully, that's why some hair may look not very good. Nothing I can do about that :\
Screens (clickable):
1.2) Nevan.
Replaces Ashley in the main story + Hunk in mercs.
1.3 Vergil.
Replaces Krauser in mercs and in the main story.
1.3 Lady.
Replaces Ada in main story, mercs, Separate ways and Assignment Ada.
1.3 Jester.
Replaces Wesker in mercs, also Luis Sera & Salazar in main story. Why? Because fuck logic, I like this character
2. Party haters:
It seems like these guys really don't like our party and trying their best to spoil it. Well, screw them!
I replaced almost every regular enemy + some bosses, excluding the garradors, machinegun guys, plaga knights and may be some few else.
7 Hells replace villagers, chess enemies replace zealots, abyss (red demons) - island people, Gigapede replaces De Lago, Saddler = Arkham, Beowulf replaces all El Gigantes, Geryon (the horse) replaces Salazar's giant statue, Spiders replace novistadors, etc.
Fun fact is that UHD version stores every location pack of enemies separately and repeatedly. I mean, for example, the village enemies from the first location and the same villagers from the second location are stored in absolutely different files, different .udas archives. I think you now imagine what it took to replace them all in all locations through the game
See more in the video.
3. Weapons:
Don't come to a party unarmed!
Some of the weapons are taken from DMC4, for better quality.
4. Food:
Oh yea, everyone gets a pizza today!
5. Decorations:
I've changed the main ingame font and most of the menu titles writings, also typewriter screen, inventory screen, mouse cursor, practice shooting targets, result screens (for mercs only), etc.., you can notice all that in the video.
6. Phone calls:
I don't have DMC3 dialogues, so as always, I wasn't able to change the sound of the radio transmissions :\
7. Animations:
There are some animation edits. Very few in-gameplay animations because it's a very hard and critical thing, a bit more of the inventory-screen animations. Also it may be unstable at 60 fps, so please stick with 30 fps settings. Read down to the final notes of the post if 60 fps is crucial for you.
You can see more of them in the video.
8. Cutscenes:
All the characters are present in the cutscenes. You can watch them from the gameplay or from the movie browser, but as always, you must wear normal costume and NOT wear a tactical vest. Otherwise the textures will be black because of some technical reasons.
As I've said before, I DMC3 dialogues are not extractable, that's why I couldn't change voices in cutscenes. I managed to do it in one or two though
And eventhough the other cutscenes have original voices I spent a lot of time replacing stuff in each of them so I decided to make this video which is a very quick run through most of the cutscenes, syncronized with one of my favorite DMC3 soundtracks (Cerberus battle music )
And here come some screens from the cutscenes.
Jester has normal height as he should (while Salazar is a midget), so I've edited camera animations and now it's a bit upper in every Jester cutscene to show his upper body, and not the middle body.
9) AUDIO.
One does not simply make a party without proper music!
All soundtrack is replaced with the one, extracted from DMC3.
I've also replaced players voices and sounds and core sounds like menu and inventory sounds.
Regular enemies' voices aren't replaced to keed the original spanish charisma
See in the video!
10) Bottle CapSSS!
The final feature and the culmination of the mod are the bottle caps. All 24, sounds included! You can see almost all DMC3 characters here.
I show all of the caps in the video:
::: UPDATE ::: ADD-ON :::
And here's some more things that will bring even more stuff from DMC3 here : )
Stars, red orbs and a full pizza! (first aid sprays) and also some more sounds.
Download links and Installation.
The mod contains 550 files in total.
The last time I got some PM questions about my previous mod because of the .lfs files, so now you don't need to worry if you have or don't have them. Just follow the instructions:
*sorry about the capslocks, I just want to make an accent here to make everything clear*
TO INSTALL THE MOD:
Copy "backup.bat" file from the mod archive in your BIO4\ folder. And run it. It creates a "BACKUPS" folder and MOVES all your 550 original files with subfolders from their location to created "BACKUPS" folder. It moves the UDAS ones if there are any, the DAT ones if there are any, the LFS ones if there are any, ETC.
After that you just need to copy and replace all the folders from the mod .rar file (Em, Etc, Evd, ImagePackHD, snd, SS, St1, St2) to your BIO4\ folder.
And if you want the add-on, then just run 2 bat files below in the add-on links section and copy & replace all the files from first add-on folder (the 900+ MB archive) and then from the second add-on archive (the small one), but before that make backups all the files you are replacing.
That's all.
TO UNINSTALL THE MOD:
If you want to leave the party and to delete the mod you need to:
Copy "movemod.bat" file from the mod archive to your BIO4\ folder. And run it. It creates a "MODFILES" folder and MOVES all 550 MODDED files from their location to "MODFILES" folder.
Then you just need to copy and replace all your original folders from your "BACKUPS" (created earlier at installation when you made backups) to BIO4\ folder.
If you have the add-on also installed you simply need to copy back all your backupped files.
That's all.
Final Notes - A MUST-READ Information:
-The mod was made for English version of the game, so please play with this language.
-Unfortunately custom animations may show glitches when played with 60 FPS setting. If 60 FPS is critical to you you can copy and replace files with original animations from "ADDITIONAL\ORIGINAL_ANIMATIONS_FOR_60_FPS\" folder from the mod archive. And in fact, better play with 30 fps, cause 60 can cause slowmotion
-To play Separate Ways also check ADDITIONAL folder to replace the original Blacktail sounds, otherwire you will be hearing Dante's voice at reload.
-Dont forget to set HD textures in Options menu.
-One cutscene may be unstable from the gameplay (it runs well from the movie browser, but can crash the game from the gameplay for some reason), it's r203s00. So if that happens - just replace the original one from the BACKUP folder or download the original from here
-Knife animation is the Drive animation from DMC4. The hitboxex are shifted a bit so you need to aim about 20-30 degrees righter from your enemy. If you are not comfortable with that just download the original knife animation ( to be put in BIO4\Em\ folder

!!!LINKS UPDATED!!!
FULL mod takes up 2.26 GB (compressed .rar).
FULL: 2.26 GB
I won't explain why the size is so big, you simply can watch all the videos above to understand why it's so big
>>ADD-ON1<<
>>ADD-ON2<<
these two .bat files [ first, second ] should be run from BIO4\ folder in order to move the original .lfs files to avoid file conflicts for the add-on.
The ADD-ON1 archive is very big because all the money chests ("You Got money" screen ) and herbs are stored in every, EVERY!! location repetitively. And why am I not surprised?...
So I replaced all of them on all locations through main story and mercs.
LITE mod doesn't include music and bottlecaps sounds (bio4bgm.xwb and bio4evt.xwb) and takes up 1.1 GB.
LITE: 1.10 GB - No music replacement, no bottle caps audio replacement[STRONGLY not recommended]
EDIT: I Had some PM requests, so here's a TOO-LITE version of the mod.
TOO-LITE version is LITE version without caps, cutscenes and menu images. 416 MB.
TOO LITE: 416 MB - No no music, no caps, no cutscenes, no menu images[CRITICALLY not recommended]
Enjoy the party and see you next time!
