Now I got it working, didn't work yesterday. Dunno what I did wrong with it. 🤔

More info about these HEX edits:
Disable Sharpening values does not work anymore with 80 BB FD 00 00 00 00 48 89 C7 74 05 --> 31 C0 90 90 90 90 89 83 DC 00 00 00 value change.
I did find one value that had 80 BB FD 00 00 00 00 and the ending 05, but the other values between those were different, and the game crashed during load when I had those replaced.
Disable Vignette edit still works with 8B 87 3C 01 00 00 89 83 DC 00 00 00 --> 31 C0 90 90 90 90 89 83 DC 00 00 00 value change.

As you may know, the game updates the zombies at distance less frequently (probably to save CPU time).
I spent an entire afternoon attempting to figure how to disable this, so I thought I'd share. Please note that I've not tested this extensively. Don't blame me if the game breaks as a result of this.
EDIT: Updated the offset/instructions for the latest update (as of December 17, 2019). This only works for this latest update(e.g. the one that added Jill's letter). I'm not interested in making it work in older or cracked versions.
Open the .exe with an hex editor and at replace the following at 0x4CBF29:
44 8B C5
With:
45 31 C0
Excuse me but how do you find the 0x4CBF29??? I've been trying to find it and it says that it can't find it... back then it was easy to find it and now it can't find 0x4CBF29.

Excuse me but how do you find 0x4CBF29? Before the recent update I could find the old code easily but now the code appears to LOOK different.

I've updated the patch with alternate instructions (hopefully easier to follow).
You should ONLY replace those bytes at offset 4CBF29, replacing them anywhere else will cause issues.

_____WHAT! But I LIKE my zombies stutterin' around at janky framerates! Yeah, makes 'em look like they're straight outta some old-school horror flick. I'm talkin' glorious STOP-MOTION '50S CREATURE-FEATURES, baby! Yeah, now throw in that awesome NOIR filter to make it all black and white. Might as well go to the drive-in, grab some popcorn, and enjoy. Or I WOULD if the popcorn I bought didn't SUCK. Anyway, janky motion! Like this!

Sorry to use this space to rant a little, but someone created a closed source .exe that patches the same three bytes and uploaded it to NexusMods and did not bother giving credit. Note that there are virtually unlimited ways to achieve the same effect on the game besides patching those three bytes to those values, so I'm absolutely sure he took it from here. When I confronted him about it on NexusMods he claimed to be the sole creator of the patch and as a "proof" he posted a screenshot of his .exe with his name on it...
It even made the news on some websites, and the initial one that reported it was DSOGaming.
I've commented on both websites saying this post was the source of the mod and that the user was stealing the credits, but my posts on both websites were deleted and my report to NexusMods was ignored.
So yeah, I recommend against posting your mods/giving traffic to NexusMods or DSOGaming as they don't seem to care about plagiarism if doing something about it affects their profits. I also do not recommend downloading the .exe there as I don't know if it is only patching those three bytes or also doing anything malicious.

Maybe a bit off topic, I made a Guitar Hero 3 SGH pack so people could add all the DLC songs from the Xbox 360 version into the PC version, the mod wanted original audio sources, preserve animations (yes, every song had custom animations for vocals, guitars, etc), retain song practice sections and names of those very same sections, I discovered how a couple files related to each other (not something super amazing as QB formatted games are easily modified), and I manage to keep all of those features. The trick is actually very simple, but the mod required a ton of hex referencing and replacing some of those references, someone took my work, said it was his, confronted him and even posted on relevant forums, totally ignored. Just don't sweat it, plus, people on nexus ban you from their releases for saying "good afternoon".

Was there another update? I can't find 44 8B C5 at 4CBF29.

There hasn't been any update, the offset and bytes to change are still the same MD5 hash of the current .exe: 2ca0dd97867b04f56b57cf19d932d3bb
I've broken down the steps even further for HxD as I have no idea why there's still confusion regarding this...

I hope you do this for RE3 too because it has the same problem, unless they add the graphics option.

I found the new offset value in re3.exe: 0xECFC28. It's pretty much the same as with RE2.
You replace:
44 8B C5
With:
45 31 C0
The problem is that unlike RE2, it also breaks interactables like doors, typewriter, stash etc. Basically anywhere you can press A/X to interact won't work anymore. I don't know how to fix it so I hope that someone here can figure it out!

I was working on it right now and I was about to create a post for RE3 but it seems you kinda beat me to it Do you have any way to reproduce the issue with the interactions? I did a quick test and I did not see anything wrong with it (maybe the area I tested is fine).
