Wasn't the achievment for the letter in the game already? I'm 100% sure I saw it before the big update, I am HIV positive on it.

The achievement was added sometime last week, but the actual letter you need to unlock the achievement was just added in the new update. PS: I hope you're not HIV positive

As you may know, the game updates the zombies at distance less frequently (probably to save CPU time).
I spent an entire afternoon attempting to figure how to disable this, so I thought I'd share. Please note that I've not tested this extensively. Don't blame me if the game breaks as a result of this.
EDIT: Updated the offset/instructions for the latest update (as of April 24, 2019). This only works for this latest updated. I'm not interested in making it work in older or cracked versions.
Open the .exe with an hex editor and at replace the following at 0x1B36BF0:
E9 AB EC AC 0C CC CC CC
With:
45 31 C0 E9 A8 EC AC 0C
Since the last update these lines do no longer exist.... Any chance to fix this?

Ì've updated the addresses/bytes to be compatible with the latest update.
I wish Capcom would add a setting to change this...

No works for me, I have the last update original game So the replacement has no effect for you? I've tested in the beginning of the "No Time To Mourn" scenario (there are a lot of far zombies there) and it seemed to be working fine
Is there an specific zombie that you are seeing being animated slowly when far away?

It isn't working for me either. I've tested the No Time to Mourn portion as well as the first floor of the R.P.D. with the long hallways (near the dark room and the records and operations rooms) All of the zombies at the open area of No Time to Mourn were choppy at a distance.
Thank you for keeping up with this though.

Can't find offset 0x4CBF29
There's loads of instances of "44 8B C5" but none at the offset provided.

Ok, I figured it out and am here to share with those like me who had problems trying to make it work. 1- open hex editor 2- hit Ctrl G and type in 4CBF29 3- hit Ctrl F and select the hex values tab 4- Search and change the lines provided by jillmoh

I just tried it on offset 004CBF20, and changed the values on that line and it worked.
