RE4UHD FSE-ESE Tool Tutorial 2022 Updated 8-2022 Greetings Modders! It is with great pleasure & satisfaction that I bring to you the culmination of efforts by many to better explain how to properly mod sound in RE4UHD. With the new tool by MarioKart64n combined with the Son of Persia Tool, we have the world at our fingertips! The reason for updating this tutorial was that we now have a better understanding of how the ESE and FSE work with other audio files. Users Zatarita & Corazon also presented some new data that was best to include here.
What will we learn in this tutorial
In this tutorial we will learn how to extract FSE & ESE files and edit the parameters of each file. Things we will learn to do are:
- change what footstep sounds are heard in the game (FSE) - add background music to specific locations (toggle on/off) (FSE) - control the intensity of certain weather sounds (filter, mute etc) (FSE) - add sound effects to specific areas (ESE)
Please visit the link below to view or download the tutorial.
A full directory of all tutorial can be viewed & downloaded HERE
Happy Modding! Mr.Curious 8-2022

Did you read the tutorial and key word search for 'MUSIC IN THE AIR' as I suggested? Everything you need to know is in that tutorial. You will be editing the FSE file.

YOu need to extract the room UDAS then extract FSE file then you need to import the extracted .obj file from the FSE into a 3d editor and have the SAT obj also imported for reference. THen edit your triggerzone for the entry you want and exported it back into the working folder. then you edit the .txt file for that entry (see that part of the tutorial that says 'Music in the Air' If you don't know how to do any of this you will need to read the ' Universal Concepts Guide' first

You can edit the obj file with a 3d program like Blender or 3dsMax. If you don't have access to a 3d program editing stage files is going to be very difficult, especially for a beginner.
You can always delete the .obj file and input the coordinates of the triggerzone in the .txt file, but without a visual reference of the room you are in it will be hard to do. You would need to walk to all the corners of where you want the triggerzone to end, look those up in Raz0r;s trainer and then input each set manually in the .txt file
For some reason when I checked the Universal Concepts Guide today I noticed there was some images missing. I have reuploaded the document with the images now.

But I have a question that Luis Weber did not do this way... When I delete the .dll file in arrange mod, the music in the r117 region no longer works...? How did he do this? Perhaps the method used by luis is easier than this...

When I modified the .txt file, as shown in the explanation, I went to # Entry Data 5 > Offset [80..83] = 0x1800000 I just modified this option .... I repack the file and added it in the r117 folder and repack it and take the r117.udas and add to the game folder, but when I go to the area I modified it, the game crashes, Can you explain why??

You need to troubleshoot your problems first. Try simply:
taking the original r117.udas and unpack then repack and place the new file in your St1 directory.
Does the game still crash then?
