very good jtl . I want to know if I understood. the only thing that was done was to change the coordinates of ashley in real time for the other server, or in this case the other player.

Even though these questions are fair, understandable, and will require answer eventually, I STILL would like to personally just see how far they can get before people start throwing questions like these. I felt odd about them then, and I feel odd about them now. Just let them see how far they get first before proposing questions that they haven't needed answers to yet. I understand it's nice to think ahead of time, but there's stages to mods like these. Milestones. One step at a time, you know?
So ultimately, even if these are necessary questions, only answer them when necessary and when we get there. The main parts are required first anyhow, like the networking and syncing.
I dunno, if I were going to be ambitious enough to retrofit a game I would take the time to speak to the pros who know whats under the hood before I put months of work in. There are some serious limitations that havent even been addressed.. I only pointed these out these limitations to help the devs understand that they are trying to do something that will eventually fall apart unless you can rewrite the code of the game. I think the way to go is what fxxxsociety is doing by using a new engine. His project has much more potential to actually work. This is the same shit Infernal went through (and what Im going through now).. You put in months and months (over a year for us both) into learning all the ins & outs of this game and realize you have spent a year learning a 10 year old engine. Infernal was ambitious enough to just start over from scratch and rebuild it all in UE4. In the end he will have a skillset that he can actually use to work in the industry or create a new project, whereas I am stuck with being a pro at modding a 10 year old game with a severely restricted game code. Had I known how much trouble and restrictions that were present I might have done what Infernal is doing now and started learning UE4. At least I learned how to 3d model XD! Now I do not say any of this to discourage ambitious modders! I wish everyone on this forum success in all their affairs, and I will lend myself to anyone that needs me. Happy MOdding! This is such a weird thing I am noticing you do. You make a point, and then sorta go back on it,

Hmm. This is a unique observation. To be honest, I was simply stating my experience while also attempting to avoid discouraging people overall. I don't mean to confuse, as my intention was to elucidate the pains of modding this game, while also trying to avoid discouraging people from modding in general.
That being said, let me ask this; was I so wrong in my assumptions here about the viability of this project? Absolutely not, as this project never went anywhere. Perhaps I saved the devs the pain of coming to learn the severe limitations of this engine. Does that sentiment in itself equate to discouragement ? Perhaps, but you see the limitation issues weren't addressed, nor were they even really discussed despite my efforts to lend my expertise. It was just full steam ahead, look how rad this is, without consideration of the limitations.
Now in the end I tried to be positive by saying that I wasnt trying to discourage ambition. Sometimes there are really talented people like Raz0r who come along and break all the misconceptions we have about limitations with their wizardry, and it is just this type of ambition that I was attempting to encourage.

I don't mean to confuse, as my intention was to elucidate the pains of modding this game, while also trying to avoid discouraging people from modding in general. Uh made it seem like you definitely were trying to discourage it, I mean, you offered an point that goes contrary to OP's statement of it even being possible to such a strong degree you would shut it down before it started. Incredibly passive aggressive things like "I dunno, if I were going to be ambitious enough to retrofit a game I would take the time to speak to the pros who know whats under the hood before I put months of work in." is why I thought as I do. I could have the mod incorrect but there are clips of people playing this game together, what do you mean "never went anywhere"? (Albeit incredibly jarring but playable.) Proof: Its not fully fledged out co-op, perfected in sync but it doesn't always have to be the perfection of a mod to make it a great nor functioning mod.
Furthermore, someone with roots on this site makes it feel incredibly overbearing when you say certain things that mark things in a negative light if they recognize you, and could ultimately just on these grounds indirectly encourage someone to not continue their project. Surely you must understand this, so yes this can equate to dis-encouragement when you say things that lead astray from your point. This first part is very good in explaining your concerns, however you turn this into something that seems very narcissistic when you bring yourself and your "expertise", I have no doubt your experience with modding this game however its just redundant and when phrased like this it gave you a negative outlook on the will of your comment. It looks to be from valid concerns, to superior you and put downs. If you want to engage in either or behavior as long as it doesn't brake rules I guess it doesn't matter however you can't have your cake and eat it too. At some point, you have to remain solid in an side or it leads to confusion and sometimes annoyance. This is a problem however, again you can't eat your cake and have it too. You have a obviously negative point of view, but your spinning it like "Its not all negative therefore this isn't a negative statement." actually as far as conversing goes, this by far is the most weird standpoint I have ever seen someone assert. Exactly, so when you make such a strong point of how they can't do something it seems to come out of malice, all you had to do was put in your concerns, and ask for a solution but you didn't do that proper at all.I think this is why leon S. Kennedy was likely upset and may or may not of got you wrong on whatever you did. (I can't speak on this that much as I don't know what happened and can only peer into the shoutbox, but only as to add someones possible confusion as a example.)

Thanks for reformatting. It makes reading things easier. I often use colors when formatting documents, and in this reply I have used the color yellow to indicate when I am quoting you directly. "Uh made it seem like you definitely were trying to discourage it, I mean, you offered an point that goes contrary to OP's statement of it even being possible to such a strong degree you would shut it down before it started. Incredibly passive aggressive things like "I dunno, if I were going to be ambitious enough to retrofit a game I would take the time to speak to the pros who know whats under the hood before I put months of work in." is why I thought as I do. " I think you misunderstand what passive aggressive means. Perhaps this statement sounds cocky, but it was an honest appraisal of the failure of the devs. They simply didn't know of all the issues that would arise from trying a project like this, and it is obvious that talking to a 'pro' (short for 'professional' and synonym of 'expert'), would have been a logical move. This statement was in the context of my own failure to do the exact same thing (the part you didnt quote). "I could have the mod incorrect but there are clips of people playing this game together, what do you mean "never went anywhere"? (Albeit incredibly jarring but playable". What I meant was that the project was never finished. The mod was showcased as having all this potential with tonnes of excitement from the community, but where is it all now? Does this make me happy that it wasn't completed? Absolutely not. I would have loved to see this project come to full fruition. Who knows, maybe it will one day. "Its not fully fledged out co-op, perfected in sync but it doesn't always have to be the perfection of a mod to make it a great nor functioning mod" I agree. It can be anything the devs want it to be. It could be a picture of Ashley floating around on Leon's shoulder for all I care. The thing was that the community saw potential, and had their hopes up. I had to weigh in on things because of what I knew. It was only fair for people to know that this would be a very difficult task, if not impossible. To equate this to discouragement is out of context. The fans and devs need to know the reality that trying to accomplish this would be most arduous, or out of the question. Also you failed to make any mention of Gustavo 2099 who pretty much outlined the possible issues in the same way and who ALSO said he wasnt discouraging people. You are missing the point I have made twice now. Maybe 3 times will be a charm, here goes; I stated before that my intention was not to discourage ambitious modders, despite that I also said that the feasibility of the project was unlikely. I think you might benefit from reading about logical fallacy, in this case, the fallacy of tu quoque, which you seem to be invoking. I hope you will come to understand that your argument is flawed as I will not be rebutting your argument in the future with you. Just because I an expert in this game, and make this known to others does not make me narcissistic. Find me any other post on this site where I boast once! You will find that I am most often polite, usually considerate and very helpful to others. If you want to engage in either or behavior as long as it doesn't brake rules I guess it doesn't matter however you can't have your cake and eat it too. At some point, you have to remain solid in an side or it leads to confusion and sometimes annoyance. This is the 2nd time you have made the mistake of invoking a flawed argument using tu quoque. This is a problem however, again you can't eat your cake and have it too. You have a obviously negative point of view, but your spinning it like "Its not all negative therefore this isn't a negative statement." actually as far as conversing goes, this by far is the most weird standpoint I have ever seen someone assert. This is the 3rd time you have made the mistake of invoking a flawed argument using tu quoque. really dude, this is getting old.. read about it. I think this is why leon S. Kennedy was likely upset and may or may not of got you wrong on whatever you did. (I can't speak on this that much as I don't know what happened and can only peer into the shoutbox, but only as to add someones possible confusion as a example.) I cant speak to what Leon S. Kennedy may or may not have been upset about as he has not replied to my comments in the shoutbox. Your speculation is as good as mine, and I'm not willing to make conjecture of any of that situation to disprove any relevance you are attempting to correlate. In any case, I hope you can understand that I am not a malicious person with any ill-intent. I try my best to be honest, straightforward, and accountable, but I don't tolerate rudeness, bullshit, lies, or bullying.

Thanks for reformatting. It makes reading things easier. I often use colors when formatting documents, and in this reply I have used the color yellow to indicate when I am quoting you directly. Its whatever, theirs a quote feature for a reason, you should use it. Theirs a reason I color coded it but aye if it helped you not color coding then who cares.Cool, maybe maybe not, its not for you to decide if they do or don't, from my knowledge the most interaction you have with OP is in this thread and at that your making assumptions. From OP'a post we can clearly see that it just says "Resident Evil 4 Co/operative Mod", That but a fool would assume its going to be some great 100 percent in sync, diverse mode where two people can play together and have absolutely no issues.Do you really agree though? You seem to misrepresented my point on purpose. From what I see the community was appreciative they even got to play together I mean your the only person with a inherently negative undertone and absolutely "Positive" outlook on this mod I have met. You didn't "have" to do anything especially when it wasn't even to help directly, it was to give your "godly" opinion. No its not out of context at all. You directly were putting this down while trying to seem like the "positive victim", Everyone knows that making a singleplayer game multiplayer is going to be hard. What killing someone is bad? I just found out. XD No your missing the point i'm making, here it goes again: Yes but your words seem insincere and demeaning, and in a negative tone that obviously would not do anything but discourage "ambitious modders", you diffidently are more on the side of impossible judging by your "neutral standpoint". Yes, people who throw the fallacy card and run away tend to never have a flawed argument lmao, i'll continue on this is a future point.Clearly you didn't pay attenion at all to the words I used and how I used them, I thought you would attempt something like this so I was careful. I clearly state "You turn this into something that SEEMS very narcissistic". I didn't state you are one, I stated why you seem like one in proper context. Oh I know full well about this fallacy and its funny as you aren't using the fallacy properly. Firstly, lets call it the more common "You Also Fallacy". Now lets go over what it is: "Description: Claiming the argument is flawed by pointing out that the one making the argument is not acting consistently with the claims of the argument.
Logical Form:
Person 1 is claiming that Y is true, but person 1 is acting as if Y is not true.
Therefore, Y must not be true.
Example #1:
Helga: You should not be eating that... it has been scientifically proven that eating fat burgers are no good for your health.
Hugh: You eat fat burgers all the time so that can’t be true.
Explanation: It doesn’t matter (to the truth claim of the argument at least) if Helga follows her own advice or not. While it might appear that the reason she does not follow her own advice is that she doesn’t believe it’s true, it could also be that those fat burgers are just too damn irresistible.
Example #2:
Jimmy Swaggart argued strongly against sexual immorality, yet he has had several affairs with prostitutes; therefore, sexual immorality is acceptable.
Explanation: The fact Jimmy Swaggart likes to play a round of bedroom golf with some local entrepreneurial ladies, is not evidence for sexual immorality in general, only that he is sexually immoral.
Exception: If Jimbo insisted that his actions were in line with sexual morality, then it would be a very germane part of the argument."Work Cited: www.logicallyfallacious.com/logicalfallacies/Ad-Hominem-Tu-quoque You can very clearly see this isn't what I am doing, I directly am telling you that when you say X, it does not make any sense as you previously have said Y, and you keep masking X with Y as to some reason that I can not figure out. You should learn about the "Fallacy Fallacy" as sited here as even if you were right about make making an fallacy, you as well would be wrong: effectiviology.com/fallacy-fallacy/The fallacy fallacy is a logical fallacy that occurs when someone assumes that if an argument contains a logical fallacy, then its conclusion must necessarily be wrong. I would continue about this but the explanation cited is much more lengthy, plus its not wise to argue semantics as its time consuming, ect. No relevance, just an example while indirectly trying to understand what has happened, I mean surely you know something? I mean he was talking alot around you complaining or something? Im unsure what your intent is, I seem to have gone from looking up to you to questioning your practices, I don't see malicious intention yet, but time exposes everything, so if there is i'm sure it will come out one day, in the mean time I will take your word. (Of course with a grain of salt) What are you trying to say with that last comment? Are you saying I am doing one or more of those things, are you saying the aforementioned person is, or is this a general statement?

wow wow wow ... stop friends. First and before saying anything else, I apologize to the modders who are doing this project if they were offended by my comments. And from another point I want to clarify that Mr.Curious and I only gave our point of view to try to help. If any modders get angry about the comments, it's your problem. but I want to repeat that it is only to help you. i apologize if someone got mad .. Mr.Curious is a good modder. in the publications he makes and where he comments they are always to help and encourage the community to follow their dreams. I suggest the same, if this is the dream of many, including me, then do it and no one stop it !! that is all!!

Well this is not one of those times then, it was not very encouraging what he said nor what his tone was. Maybe it was to help, thats not my point, while I have trouble believe curious's intent was to help rather then speak his opinion, even so I don't see how he thought it was a good idea to say what he said in a helping way. I digress, just let the thread get back on track please.

Look at the screenshoot. It shows there is a tab for Mercenaries. Oh yeah... didnt notice since its a tiny little button with no other comments or descriptions about it I dont even care about all those settings on the main page for Ashley or armor or whatever... I just want to know how the character selection process works in mercenaries, and what happens if player 2 dies does player 1 keep going? Would be nice to know if anybody has actually played co-op mercenaries and how it works or keeps track of your score, or even better to see a video before I go through the effort of testing it out It looks like the creator put a lot of work into this mod with all the options and settings, kinda sucks the creator hasnt been back in over a year to update things I could see this being a really popular mod if it worked smoothly and easily EDIT: wait a minute... that "screenshot" is from Raz0rs Trainer and not the actual co-op mod itself... so I still dont actually know if Mercenaries is actually playable using this co-op mod... can anybody confirm if they have actually tested co-op mercernaries using this mod? thanks
