Lol, I love the blue lasers. I still think it's insane they put that in re4.

I'm hearing a lot of comments from people who think survival horror is better with fixed camera angles. While I agree to a certain extent that this classic type of camera can add to suspense as player movement & field of view is often restricted, I still can appreciate the value of being able to look around an environment freely to observe the overall detail of a game. The RE4 devs struggled with the idea of moving over to an action type OTS camera, but in the end I think it pushed forward the better system that is in place today. While I will not entirely replace the OTS camera system for the Resident Evil REmix project, I am considering adding this feature as a possible add-on to the existing mod for those who wish to use classic style cameras. There are still some bugs with the current setup that are being explored (the enemy cam files that are activated during attacks) . THanks to MariokartN64 for the 10 days of hard modding to make this possible. Enjoy this classic view of the Spencer Mansion!
Happy MOdding!

@kneegrowth I know right? I guess it was more of an experiment. I dont think I will pursue this any further for my mod.

While I agree that the fixed camera angles in general are detrimental to this type of game I was wondering if you considered maybe having fixed angles in a few areas where enemies aren't present as a sort of "throwback" to the classic style games. That way you wouldn't have to worry about the difficulties with aiming/combat during these sections. Honestly I have no idea how "worth it" that would be compared to how much work it would take to implement something like that but it would be a neat (but unnecessary) addition to this fantastic mod of yours.

leftshoe18 I think you are right, and Albert pretty much said the same thing! I think this idea is the best way forward. Happy Modding!

If it was out I'm sure you'd see a post in the released mods forum.

is it possible to re-apply the fixed camera angles for the ashley section in the official re4 ? i heard the japanese version has it but not the international release
i certainly think fixed camera angles can add to the atmosphere if they are done well, and they dont have to be in every section of the game

it was not a question about modding but about your project to see if you managed to create cutscenes
