greetings., I am having trouble repacking... I have tried using the steps found HERE but something is not right. The game will not load. Here are the steps I took: 1- open UNwxb tool to open the simply to open bio4bgm.xwb file. A fodler with all wav files is created 2 - Edit one of the wav files and make it silence: Same length, same bit rate etc. 3 - Open Xact 3.0 and import all sounds into wav bank, rename wavebank to "bgm" 4 - reorder all files in wavbak by clicking 'name' column in wave bank window 5 - build 6 - rename exported bgm.xwb to bio4bgm.xwb 7- place in bio4/snd folder 8 - start game result: My game will not load and the screen stays black. Any help would be appreciated. Step by step instructions on the entire process would be awesome.

But I think you'd better test simply repacking bio4bgm without modifying some wav files. This file is 950016 KB. If you simply repack bio4bgm and it is not the same size, you have mistaken something. If it is same size 950016KB, you have successfully repacked it. The point is using "streaming" when you repack bio4bgm. I assume you used "in memory". We need to use "in memory" when we repack plxx.xwb and wepxx.xwb. But bio4bgm must be repacked with "streaming".

As 3getu841 pointed out to me there is a video tutorial by Markos available HERE. That being said Im still getting a black screen. I did not even modify the wav files, simply repacked the original files. I did everything according to the video Project was named 'bio4bgm' and wave bank was named 'bio4bgm'. (also tried using 'bgm' but made no difference) Files all added in proper order Used 'Streaming' setting Final file size is identical any ideas 3getu841 @mrgamer ?

I can repack bio4bgm.xwb in which mercenaries BGM are silenced. Its file size is 855394KB because 5 wav are replaced. I made this to record mercenaries play without BGM and works fine. Did you make wave bank only ? I think you need to make sound bank too when you make BGM files.

This is exactly why im trying to learn this lol! i didn't want music in Mercs! I supposed you could email the file,, but... I should learn this. I did make wave bank only. What do i have to do to make sound bank? the video @mrgamer posted does not mention this.

If you want to silence mercenaries BGM you can use 00000040.wav from Leon's pl00.xwb. This is a blank sound file. Just replace mercenaries 5 wav files with renamed 00000040.wav. Then repack it.

Were you successful in repacking bio4bgm.xwb without moding any wav files ? And did the repacked one work fine in the game ? If so your Xact3 works correct.
In the video you replaced 0000003c.wav with the moded one (silenced wav file ?) This file is something wrong. Isn't it ?
If you simply want to mute mercenaries BGM, why don't you try what I told you ? (using 00000040.wav and rename it)

In my case I just create a new Wave Bank creating only "bio4bgm.xwb" and I use the original sequence "bio4bgm.xsb" I do not need to create "sound bank" I do not know if you saw, in the last mod of hydra that I made for RE4 UHD I used new sounds for the weapons and in the Hunk mod I just used "Wave Bank" and when I exported the sound file I just copied the file "bio4bgm.xwb" because I added the sounds in the sequence Original and do not need to add an "xsb" file being that I was going to use what I did not create, I do just that and my sound mods works very well and without error;
Try to create only a "Wave Bank" and use the original "XSB" file of the game even without being created by the program;

Repacking all the wav files without editing the wav files and using 'IN MEMORY' and using WAVE & SOUND banks produced a slightly smaller file. RESULT: Game would not load. Test 2 - Removing the SOUND BANKS and setting XACT to 'STREAMING' (without replacing any wav files) RESULT: Game loaded fine. Test 3 - Using only WAVE BANKS (no sound banks) and setting XACT to 'STREAMING' (replaced all Mercs files with Leon 00000040.wav) RESULT: Game loaded fine. Test 4 - Using only WAVE BANKS (no sound banks) and setting XACT to 'STREAMING' (replaced 0000003c.wav with custom wav file of different bitrate renamed to 0000003c.wav) RESULT: Game loaded sometimes, often crashed, and would not play the file. Thank you for your help. I was able to replace the audio with silence for Mercs, and will continue to do tests with other wav files.

I tried editing the bio4bgm, I tried everything but it just didn't work. I selected "streaming" and the game launch perfectly, but the order of the music was all messed up. I tried what Albert said, renaming to only numeric names, but that also didn't work. I also did the sound bank thing which 3getu841 mentioned, but that didn't do anything. So my only problem now is the order of the music.

all files need to be in order of the original in hex order so:
01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F 10 11 12 etc...
