Attention Spoilers about the whole "The Evil Within 2"
dont read anything before you know the complete story.
So this is my fazit of MY most anticipated game of the last 3 years.
I really liked the first 6 chapters, they had great settings and incredible good designes. I can praise especially the Bosses... But then comes Stefanos Boss Fight and to be honest, his whole storyline was super disapointing. No deeper meanings or interesting plot changes. Its like they teased so much with the Obscura and in the Trailers, but in the end there was no real mystik or secret behind it.
After Stefanos boring exit, the game started to become from great to mediocre. There was a few Bosses that were good, but nothing really left an impression on me.
The whole "missing Mobius team" had no pay off either. All are dead and i don't care about a single one of them. They all felt like empty husks, or like NPCs from an old RPG, than original characters.
A much bigger disapointing than Stefanos Story line was Theodors. Behind Theodors facade was absolut nothing, no charm, no beliveable character motivations or anything, he was just there and played the 0815 villain role.
Annnnndddd even worse than Theodor was everything about Myras story. All the mystery built up in
The Evil Within 1 resolutes into an unsatisfying "Meh".
The complete last 5 Chapters werent not entertaining at all and it started to annoy me, i`ve known at that point that i absolutely dont like the direction the story had taken and knew that the ending cant change that, just make it worse.
The finale against Theodore, when they rehashed some creatures from
TEW 1 felt more like an insult to me than something good. I hated that they wasted Laura and the Keeper for such nonsence.
The Evil Within 1 finale was not really great either, but atlest it doesn`t felt like an insult. This is just lazy pointless cameos. If executed well, it could have worked, but not when they are just like some pokemons from Theodor.
And of course the final battle is for the 999999+ time a skyscraper tall Boss, who would have guessed that...............Super lame. At Least the ending chapters were not as boring as Rösidunt Övil 7 ship Chapters.
I could not get invested in Sebastians whole family plot and it felt really unbelievable to me. What kind of bad relationship had he with his wife if the two are not even able to talk to each other.
Myras whole white liquid design felt super pointless. In Silent hill designs of enemys have meanings, here it feels they have just done stuff, without thinking about any meaning. And her Marvel Superheros moves raised the cringe factor (when she punches the floor and change the environment. thats not cool or epic, that just let me roll my eyes.)
Next is what happened to Kidman.... she was the star for me in
TEW1. In
TEW2, she is almost not recognizable, she has until the finale 2 scenes and thats it, her face is completely different (yeah,yeah Sebastians too). I hate it when they change faces, no matter what face.
Not only her apperance changes. She gives a complete different vibe. she moves for example total different, if you look how stylish she walks in the original, compared to
TEW 2, there are worlds between them. In
TEW 2 she feels more like the girl next door, which does not match up with her story and original behaviour and personality. She has only half of the charme she originally had for me.
Finally the finale, what a cheap deus ex machina ending, with "the core can kill all Mobius people, because of ships in their heads....... this is so stupid, i could not believe what bullshit i just heard there. Reallly??? who wrote that? a 6 year old???
:"Mami, Mami there is this super secret mighty organisation and they all have ships in their heads and they can explode throug a signal from an unstable research project, isn`t that cool mami?":", Oh yeah sweetheart sounds exactly like it is handled at my work!":" and then Mommy they go KADUSHHH, BLUUAARRRGGSSS!" but there is a mighty Admin and he dies a half minutes later Mommy, because he needs to die on screen and not like all others.":" Ahahaha, thats so cool buttercup!!! your so talented!!, like a Paul W. Anderson.!" .............please dont insult me Mommy"
I like smart plots and storys who let you think about them. The whole
TEW 2 story is cheap, hanebüchen, has one of the most senseless, ridiculous deus ex machina`s ever and has no mysteries or secrets to offer.
The stuff i imagined how the story could be, even before the first announcement of the game, where more interesting than what we have got in the end.
TEW 1 was a huge event, i played it alot and happily talked and debated with friends about it, i ve buyed it for Xbox 360 at release and later a 2nd time for Pc, i have drawn tons of fan art, extracted the character models and more, but
TEW 2 gives me no material to do the same.... it started so great and the gameplay has alot to offer, (- the last 5 Chapters, they are even gameplay wise not entertaining for me), but thats it.
It is an empty shell, with some good designs, but they are put so sensless together, that i cant get any enjoyment out of the story and even worse, it almost ruined the original characters for me.
its a shame,....... i really hoped that this game would turn out great for me.
I give the game a
6 out of 10 or maybe a
7 because The fake kidman survives, but thats it.
If i rate the Story only, i would give
TEW 2 a
4 out of 10. No Mystery, no secrets, no payoff, only lame answers.

The Evil Within 1 beats
The Evil Within 2 on any scale, from characters to story, environments, gameplay, lore, mystery and experience. I think i handle it like Rösidunt Övil 7 and ignore the story line.........
These are my experiences with
The Evil Within 2 (in short, there is way more i could kinda rant about). If they make a 3rd game i hope it would be a total new cast, or even a new Universe, because NONE of my questions and expectations were satisfactorily answered and they insulted the characters enough, at least that's how i felt about it.
In the end, i had more fun with the original
The Evil Within than 1000 other people together with both games, and i guess its better than nothing, it could be worse, it could be like Rösidunt Evil 7
