I guess this is the real, and the source is trusted one, since some forums and websites already posted this news) Here is the original link - Gamespot - www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-7-goes-back-to-horror-roots-will-be-/1100-6439896/"Resident Evil 7 is in development and will be announced next month at E3 2016, according to Japanese analyst Serkan Toto.Writing on Twitter today, he also revealed that the game will return to the franchise's horror roots, and that Capcom has hired designer Jordan Amaro to work on it. He's no stranger to big-name franchises, as he also worked on 2015's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." Sooo, if all this for real, we will get some teaser/trailer pretty damn soon)))

Hmmmm if this is true then it is nice to finally get some News. But...."RE's horror roots" doesn`t sound great to me. normally Horror games don`t have much replay value and for people like me who dont get scared or frightened by games or movies, the whole Horror idea is doomed to begin with.
Still i hope they make a good job and a uniqe game experience,... we will see!

Here's hoping it actually does get back to its horror roots, I've seen them use similar language with the some of their more recent releases but it failed to catch what made the original Resident Evil games great and how they defined the genre of survival horror.
To me even though I don't get necessarily scared of while playing the games from the past I do miss feeling a unease as I went around the corner or wondering around dark and creepy mansions and derelict city streets and police stations and wonder whether I'm going to run out of ammo or heath before I reach the nearest save point, the newer games lack this feel since I don't have to worry at all about conserving ammo or not reaching a save point and I can just go through the game guns a blazin with no drawback.
So in short I'm real big in having survival horror within the Resident Evil games since its where i feel the series should be given how it defined the genre during my childhood and I would be a bit disappointed (but not surprised) if RE7 does not actually go back to its horror roots for real this time.
But hey, I have RE2 to look forward to so that is a plus, granted we have not seen any gameplay for the game yet but given the fact that its being handled by the same guys who handled the RE1 remake I feel it will do just fine in my book.

Colour me interested. Please not another RE6 Capcom. I know a lot here liked RE6 but for me I found it quite boring and haven't played it again since my first completion.

Maybe it's because we are in same age and According to that, we have similar memories and feeling on this serie (just a guess) (and i said this before, in another thread. determiners) and also I heard a rumor a month ago that they plan to release 3 game before 20 march 2017 so maybe one of those games is re7 (Most likely) and I am worried about their diagnosis about the origins of this franchise because they have wrong opinion about that so on this way they make a mistake again classics versions were good but at that time with those old consoles and systems not on this time i don't like re6 and re-rev1 and also i don't like re1remake and re0remake too (in this time) activision with cod-zombie mod ruined capcom mind! so capcom thought why not?! when they used our zombies for their own game so we take revenge and make our game like cod to earn more money like them!!! but everybody saw the Result of that diagnosis and that wrong (...) decision then they said oh my god! who decide that?! don't worry our dear customers,! He was fired! so no more mistake again! so they thought: we most come back to the origins! and remake old versions exactly same as what ever were those! (i know they just polish the old remakes, my mean is just about misunderstanding) ohhh capcom... please... just don't think any more!! or at least give us a full modding tools package, that maybe we can repair your mistakes... just take a look around then you realized that the survived games are moded one max payne1,2 - fallout - skyrim - gta serie - ... by the way i don't have any hope on capcom any more so make what ever you want and i don't buy it... (why should i?! i dont play the games! i just love modding ...)

Glad you appreciated my wording sedaI liked the original RE1 / RE2 style. In my eyes though RE1 remake was the ultimate version of the game. I'm still only one of very few I know that has beaten "Invisible enemy" mode on the hardest difficulty with both Jill and Chris.

After the last two games (6 and Revelations 2) I don't care what this one will be as long as it's good (and hopefuly coopless).

But they would have to do a time jump so she isn't still a 12 year old little girl.

Yea, I hope, they forget about Natalia and either do something entirely new or bring Wesker back- it's not like his death in pre REmake RE1 stopped him from returning in CV.

But wouldn't that be a waste though? Why set up a cliffhanger like that and not expand upon it? It simply would be a dumb move on their part, I'm a HUGE Albert Wesker fan and I still maintain till this day that he deserved a better and more epic death (The surviving S.T.A.R.S members should have killed him not just Sheva and Chris) but I think it was a good time to kill Wesker off and start anew, the franchise needs something fresh as far as a main antagonist goes and I think they could pull off something great with Natalia/Alex Wesker, there really is no need in bringing back Albert back now especially since his death had some finality to it and some fans may view it as a asspull to have him come back from the dead yet again.

All I can say is if they're having old characters again such as Chris and Jill in it, please don't fuck em up, and for once make them partners and married AND don't kill them off either!
Also Piers might come back as a Nemesis for the BSAA possibly. Who knows.
I would also be partial that they have an entirely new cast of characters for a change and bring back the recent one timers such as Sheva, Josh, Parker, and Helena.
A 12 year old girl villain might be interesting or terribly cliched depending on what they do with it, unless Alex gets an age accelerator or something to mutate into her old self again.

I think it is to soon for Alex/ Natalia. She must rebuild her entire empire, her allies are dead, she lost her wealth. It is to unbelievable for her to be a main villain right now, atleast for me. I believe she doesn't even have full control about Natalia. I would like to see Jessica and her superiors as antagonists, or some sort of indirect villain.
Hope they don't go toooooo over the top. Please not again an entire world-threatening plot, that is so unbeliveable. A small town, area or some kind of building is enough.
edit: Oww I just saw Bushy`s reply, ......dude i love you for mentioning Helena, and you got right to the point with "please don't fuck em up". because of that i am not sure if i want to see some charackters in a RE again.
