I wonder if this is still going live. i hope it does.
In the case that it doesn't go live, I'd like to work on my own version of it.
i'm pretty good with modeling myself. just curious on the tools used for importing the environments back into the game.

Still alive! Like I said some time ago, progress is slow and I'm constantly improving rooms that were already finished. A lot of effort is being made to acquire new assets for this project and other projects as well. Here's a nice 4k render for you guys. Thank you so much for your patience and continuous support. excellent! amazing work!
As mentioned in my first post, which ever way the mod is released in packs or a single mod i still want to play it. just as long as the work isn't abandoned.

meant to reply a lot sooner, the quote for project is a little vague. the amount of upscaled backdrops were mostly outside of the mansion. including the courtyard and waterfall. Not sure if these areas below will be included in High quality backgrounds Mod. since they were the lowest quality moments in the HD version.

Most of the outside areas with the exception of the cemetery behind the main hall were already re-rendered by Capcom.

the trees and foliage are replaced in full 3D but i think the backdrops are the same but sharpened. i'll have to replay this again, i've been playing too much of the RE2 remake. the most upscaled parts i can remember is outside behind the main hall. which have 3 sections that appear heavily compressed.

Right. Foliage is 3D which means they had to re-render the backgrounds to get rid of the foliage there. Original (GC) HD Remaster

interesting. not sure why it was re-rendered back into 4:3 though. The effects of the wide-screen filter reverts the quality back to compression.
Have you worked on the cabin as well? or are you plaining to?

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said that re-rendering in 16:9 would allow players to see more of the background than originally intended and that would kinda ruin the immersion.
And yes, I'm working on all the stages of the game.

I was also going to mention Umbrella chronicles has 3D environments as well. they can be used as reference. I was planning on going to Umbrella chronicles for resources myself.
