Hi FluffyQuack Do you have any plans for Arc unpacker to support Monster Hunter Stories 2?, as that uses the MT framework arc archive format. I tried the current arc tool exe and bat files on its arc files, no files were extracted. I have samples uploaded here mega.nz/folder/PT4wnIja#w1qy0KrBcqI2w9u0ubiuegSorry, I've got no plans to go back to working on ARCtool. Hiya! I was going to ask the same, but for The Great Ace Attorney. Oh well, that's understandable. Still, I'm guessing any text or the game script would also be also stored in .ARC files? I was curious how feasible it would have been to extract the script of the game, do a machine translation of it, and repack the files.

Hi all, this post just to say that, thanks to your tools and your guides, I successfully mod Resident Revelations on WiiU!
Firstly, I choose the PS3 batch file after having performed the following test: - take the original .arc file - unpack it with the batch file - pack it with the batch file (without having modified it) - compare the result with the original .arc file (using WinMerge)
The PC and XBOX batch file, for some reasons, create a new .arc file which is different from the original one.
The PS3 batch file, on the other hand, produce a new .arc file which is almost identical to the original one. You only have to edit the very first line, copying the original one (you can do it with WinMerge).
In addition to the batch file, there are also differences in the .lvt files, which should be taken into account when editing them. In particular, the hex numbers representing the drop probabilities are reported in reverse order.
For example, the 50% probability of receiving an untagged weapon in the weaponTagRate.lvt is represented: - 00 00 48 42 in the PC .lvt file, and - 42 48 00 00 in the WiiU .lvt file
Apart from this, weaponTagRate.lvt and weaponRarityRate.lvt have the usual format (same as PC), while weaponSlotRate.lvt contains one less table (PC version is larger with 242 bytes, while WiiU version only have 212 bytes).
Feel free to ask me more detailed information if you are interested :-)

Hello FluffyQuack, Thanks for providing the Arctool. It definitely made my work much easier and I was able to use it to make a stage mod for revelations 1. Like other stage modder in revelation 1, I'm also running into the same unsupported XFS variable type error in some of the XFS scripts. Error: Unsupported XFS variable type 128 in file xxx at position 4222 For some of the simpler changes, I was able to get by with editing the fsm hex directly. For the more complex changes, it became quite error prone. So I'm looking for alternatives at the moment and also trying to spend some more in understanding the hex structure a little more I understand that you have no plan to go back to working on ARCtool. I wonder if you happen to know any workaround to this problem. Thanks!

Hello FluffyQuack, First of all thanks for providing this tool. I wanted to convert mes_font.2D462600 (RE 6 Font) to .gfd but I don't know how to do it. In other forums, someone just said that he used Arc tool to convert it to .gfd file. I know how to edit the gfd file, but I don't know how to convert mes_font.2D462600 to gfd. I would be glad if someone help me!

I tried to extract the file "lang_eng.arc" from Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for Nintendo Switch and did not optive successfully. Is there a chance that the "ARCtool" tool will be upgraded to ARC compatible with nintendo switch? Example file

once you drag and drop your .arc in re6 batch file it'll make two actions, first it'll extract your file, second it'll create a .txt file with the same name of your .arc file, inside the .txt file you'll see the paths for those files which has extracted,
so the point is you need this .txt file {paths} to repack your folder.
if you deleted the .txt file you won't be able to repack it

Completely stopped working for me (RE5). On repack it doesn't update .lot files with my changes in the .xml files (ARC size stays same, no changes in game and I also didn't change the .bat file). First time im having this after months of using this tool. Im pretty sure it's an issue with my PC. I already tried restarting my PC and even moving arc tool to another drive which actually worked for one recompile but then it just stopped working again. Im so confused! It doesn't even pack in new files.

I needed the same thing, a friend helped out and thought it could be useful to everyone so he released it. The thread is here, along with a video tutorial if you need it. The way I use it is to create a separate folder with copies of the .arc I need, sorted by what's inside (.eg Mercs, Weaps, NPCs), then search for ".dds" in Win Explorer. This will allow you to grab all .dds files for all weapons for instance, all in one go. Hope it helps!
