Right, in terms of versus. I've done the following so far.
Edited the ini to make sure DX10 = 1.
However, doing this makes the game crash for whatever reason, even though, I've been running it in DX10 beforehand. Something in the Ini seems to be making the game crash before it can properly start up (I get a black screen)
A friend of mine took a look at this and refereed me to a versus mode patch that someone uploaded on the old forums, I believe?
However, this turned out to just be the one you included in your mod, that still isn't working.
We reset it back to just the base game with your mod installed, alongside the versus.exe but we can't seem to get anything atm. Any suggestions?

Try running it in DX9 so make DX10 = 0. Tell me what happens after that.

actually I'm sry first copy all files from 1 0 6 then after u paste it where the exe is then replace it with 1 0 7

Also .I ran some tests and found out it was indeed the versus version included in your mod making my game crash for whatever reason. I temporarily dragged out all the files related to your mod from my directory and restored my directory via steam so I had a fresh copy and then applied another modders Versus to my game and just applied the mercs mod, I then turned on DX10 = 1 in his versus.ini and that one didnt crash my game, so whatever is going on with your versus one is crashing my RE5. but I'll see if applying the previous version alongside it will help.
... versus still didn't appear with his version though.. I'm screwed xD

I know you mentioned before you don't have any more work on this, due to lack of ideas or the like. But may I make some suggestions? - Make the blue jeans chainsaw majini the re4 chainsaw guy  - Model one of the "Chris vests" guy's as Kevin Ryman or George Hamilton. Someone made a model of Kevin for RE6. - Make the Leon costume use a mixture of Sheva's attacks and Chris' on wesker when he's stunned. Y'know that combo he does? I'm sure it'd be possible, cause each "attack" is considered a different move... right?

As for the ideas it is very nice of ya to think of stuff and they have been considered. However for the sake of the mod, everything is done for a reason to have a "protagonist-like" Resident Evil. More of the well known chars into one. As much as I LOVE Kevin, he wouldn't have much of a pairing with the rest of the cast (aside from Leon) and the same pertains for George.
For Doctor Salvador, that wouldn't be too bad of an idea (if I knew how to model import), and as for the mix between chris/sheva attacks on Wesker it kinda would be possible. Just would take work.

Yeah, still no models in character select, it using default etc. and still no versus mode. Do you perchance have skype? I could screenshare with you, and you can see the problem first hand. If you have the time of course man, better than talking back and forth and me missing something. I understand your choice with the pairing stuff. But prehaps you could consider it as an "alternative addition" if you could ever find the chance to work on them of course. Dr. Salvador Would fit the Blue pants majini, as that's the only only one that enters the "beserk" mode in Mercs and I think that fits him rather well. Regardless I'm sure you made the best choices. Odd question, but can you only add characters, based on the limit of the original mercs? I found a video a little while back, it was in.. mexican or something I believe. It was also called "Mercinaries redemption" I found it while trying to look for Gold Edition mods for PC just after I came across yours. There was additional characters past wesker. Like Heavy Metal Chris, Excella and the like, they where in a seperate 8 selection, past wesker. I dunno if it was editing or legit. I can show you the video if you're intrested. Additionally. Another suggestion would be to make the names of the meele move corrospond with what the characters using? I know this is possible as I found a video yesterday called "Chris Headbutts Jill" and it was the 5-3 Jill fight. Instead of "Straight" the text said "headbutt" and Chris actually used Barry's headbutt. This was on PC, as he mentioned something called the LMT tool? Regardless. Here's the current problems I'm having: - I cleared my RE5 folder to have a fresh start, reinstalled it fresh and reapplied the 1.6 and 1.7 mod. Aparantley, 1.6 is causing issues, making my VERSUS.EXE.crash regardless if it's installed by itself or standalone, even if DX10 = 1 is set to 0 or 1. - Meaning I can only play mercs (still without individual character portraits, 4 player mercs and versus) only with 1.7 Despite that, I don't know what's next.Again I hope you can help me find the solution here, or make things simplier and help me via Teamviewer or Skype... or BOTH!

1) For an alternate edition, the idea was much more apparent when I had Resident Evil 6 in mind. There are a ton of costumes and a ton of ideas. Since Resident Evil 5 has little limitations and not a lot of chars to swap I figured it'd be best to try the same concept for Re6. This was the idea + anything with an X is either finished (by a modder) or in beta.

That Resident evil 6 idea sounds amazing and hope you can find the time and resources to dedicate to it. Although I don't like 6 as much as 5... I dunno, there's just something about 5 that holds a special place in my heart, alongside outbreak.. Maybe it's just the combat system or the stamina system that irks me, or the fact each character only has like.. what.. three unique meele moves? Regardless. I own 6 on PC, and would love to test this if you ever make it. 2) If I find the video again,I'll send it you via skype and you can see for yourself 3) I could send you the video I found that on too, see if you can get anything from the owner or the description. Oh I know how to change all text in game (thats why you see Leon RPD, and stuff in the char select and all that). Just mean the inspiration to do it. Kinda waiting to see if I can do Carlos/Mr.X
