does anyone know how to edit the alpha channel of an albedo texture?. im trying to mod resident evil 8,I was able to get the specular on the gun going but the metal is plastic looking. people said i need to adjust the alpha layer. I use blender and quixel mixer, but i also have paint.net and gimp. any help would be greatly appreciated.

This page will help you.
Non-transparent albedo means metalic texture. And transparent normal map means reflective texture.
You need to export these files in Noesis and edit their alpha channel in GIMP (or another image editor)

sorry, but do you mean the need the albedo itself needs to be transparent, or just the alpha?

Just the alpha.
I mean "looks transparent in GIMP." Not "in the game."

asked around so many forums and discords and no one had anything to say.
