Did you edit the 0700000.pack file for this?

Albert has stated he will never remove the film grain effect,as it is part of the original re4 and is trying to keep it as faithful to the original

Yes i just changed the 193.dds texture very simple The thing is that you break many other effects by removing this texture. The film grain effect is only one of the many effects that use this texture. If you want to do this right, and I mean by not interfering with some of the other game effects, what you would need to do is edit the effects for each room, and remove the film grain effect itself, not the texture that is used by the effect. Happy Modding!

@mycurious are you sure? Ive played the whole game and havent noticed a difference... And if there is a difference its probably very minor infact so minor its not even noticeable... Thats just my 2 cents... I have enb and shaders fix installed so the game looks way better no matter what differences are made as you can see from the screenshots.

I'm sure some people like it without the film grain (I personally like the look without and have created my entire REmix mod without the effect present), however it really changes the way some blooms work by removing this texture.
I cant remember exactly what Albert told me a while ago about this, but he was adamant that it affected other important effects (i have emailed him to remind me so I can share this info with you here).. To preserve the other effects I always removed it from the EFF files, not the texture packs.
We are both a bit of what you'd call 'purists' in the sense that we don't want any unnecessary side effects from modding files. Sometimes you have to chose between a desired result and its' unintended side effect, but in this case there is no need to interfere with the other effects. Yes, editing all the room EFF files with the film grain effect present would be a bit of work, but this task could probably be completed in a couple of hours time. The only reason I haven't done it already was because raz0r implemented the fix with his trainer.
If people don't care about this mod breaking other effects, then go for it.
Happy MOdding !

From Albert on film grain: About the film grain, it's used for the ambient suspension dust on some rooms (the house where Luis is trapped (r106) for example. It was also the dirt in the cows drinking trough in room r101 (it looked really bad...) Any effect you find using texture ID 72 (the film grain is 01 04 72)
This means any effect using ID 72 will be removed by any edits to the texture. Also to do a fair comparison how some blooms are affected look at this comparison from r309: WITH GRAIN WITHOUT GRAIN WITH GRAIN WITHOUT GRAINAs you can see the film grain in this room changes how we see through ETM object glass. The models inside the glass are almost completely obscured by saturated light due to the removal of the film grain. While this side effect would still happen even if we were to remove the effect via EFF edit instead of texture edit, it is still worth comparing some of the more drastic changes in some scenarios.

Huh very interesting... Think we all learned something today thanks curious, the thing for me is i have a reshade mod and a shaders fix installed so maybe this is why i didnt notice a difference as possibly they either countered the bloom effects or helped make it back up some how since these graphic mods really change the lighting and stuff... But i agree this needs more comparisons.. In my book id probably still rather not have the filter and just make up for the effects with enb and shaders fix.. Its also possible these graphics mods make it look better then alberts fixes but this needs more investigation...

Yeah, I always liked it without the filter too. The look varies on which room you are in. If you are interested in making this mod via editing the EFF I will prepare a short tutorial just for you!
Cheers
