So guys, we did it. (That meme still relevant?) I am borderline dead inside but here it is. Now I just need to fix those white squares that randomly decided to join the party *cries in hex*. It should be done soon. I so hope you like the look because that hairstyle literally took hours. Don't break Claire's heart now~. Edit: Dammit Omg, you have no idea how many times I deleted her ponytail while messing around with that mesh XD I'm cheering you on!

MaVeRicK ZethrasI'm still not 100% happy with the look but this is what it looks like right now. What annoys me is that it looks very vibrant which is incredibly hard to change without the shine suddenly becoming a pixelated mess. I'll play around with it more tomorrow. I need some sleep. I did do my best to get a release worthy version ready before going to bed but I don't feel comfortable releasing something that I haven't thoroughly tested yet. I pretty much only tested it under normal light conditions (main hall/sewer control room) and darkness. I have not at all tested it when it gets wet from the rain. I hope it won't go all crazy but it's a definite possibility. To my eye, it definitely looks better than before but I'll do my best to perfect it as much as I can. Right now my body is just forcing me to go to sleep. If you're interested in checking out the current WIP version, you can download it here. Bear in mind that it's only the hair and nothing else. I didn't write any modinfo or add any pictures. You can still install it via Fluffy like a normal mod. If you find anything weird or out of place (besides the obvious overly harsh vibrancy), please let me know. And also, thanks for the encouragement everyone. Hex editing definitely isn't my idea of fun my forté but I do want to make a decent quality mod here. Hearing people care about the mod really gives me a boost like nothing else.

Thank you so much for putting all that effort.

In that case I'm pretty sure I now know what values I need to change for the wet look. I'll get on it in a bit.

The vibrant thingy is the same gripe I have with her blonde hair mod, it can look shiny even under rain or in the darkness. I think Claire has some kind of values or textures that prevents hair from having a "lighter" hair color and also look completely natural. That being said you are doing incredibly well with your fixes: you managed to get the wet effect almost right (something the blonde hair mod does not have) and I actually feel that the color, although vibrant, is correctly lit in the dark areas (it doesn't have it's own shine xD). Amazing work! You should consider making more hair color for her, since you are getting good at it!

The hair color is pretty unnatural looking. Could either be much darker or much more subdued by lowering the saturation and such.

MaVeRicK Zethras I've had a pretty big breakthrough. I now finally understand it better than ever. Still wish I could just work with fancy RE Engine tools though. The rain appearance is fixed. The hair no longer has grey highlights and is completely playable from start to finish. (Atleast I think so. Fingers crossed.) There is still some quirks that I want to figure out but they are mostly things that you probably won't notice unless you pay close attention. V1.2 is now released. Please, as always let me know if you have any issues or find any bugs.
If anyone is interested in the technicalities, there's a huge section coming up of me explaining my findings. I'll hide it in a spoiler tag. Edit: I don't know how to spoiler tag Edit Edit: I finally figured it out after about 10 tries. Sorry about that. So I've figured out there is a clear structure in the hex code. Lines 23C0 - 2460 are the main hairLines 2470 - 2510 are the ponytailLines 2520 - 25C0 are random frillsThe last 3 lines of each controls the different values concerning rain. This is how I now fixed the rain turning the hair completely black. I have disabled darkening from the rain completely for the moment. The shininess from it remains. The decoded text on the right does (in theory) let you know which value does what. Sadly it isn't as simple to connect the dots. One of the funniest things I stumbled upon is that they misspelled "Primary" in the engine code. The engine literally asks for "Primaly Anisotropy". I don't know why that's so funny to me. I should put that line on Claire's tank top. Interesting to note is that they did spell "Secondary" correctly just one line after. Goddammit Capcom. I'll post a detailed guide in the appropriate section of the forum when or if I ever figure out how to edit hair correctly. For now, that's the end of me.

Wait a minute, why are you assuming that the spelling mistake is in "Primaly" Maybe instead it's secondary that they wrote wrong, and they meant to write it "Secondaly" hmm, think about it. This sounds like great news though, I can't wait to try it out. Note: Took you 10 tries only? I'm embarrassed to say how many times I've tried and failed to put an image inside of a spoiler tag before giving up and asking in the questions thread...

Hi i noticed theres like a weird green mark (like someone got a marker) on her right arm and hand when the brown leather jacket skin is used. You can faintly see it in one of the screenshots.

I jumped around between different save points to test it out in different lighting and environments.
Here're my findings:
1) The ugly grey shade it had before is definitely gone for good, the hair color is always there. [Excellent]
2) Hair doesn't lose it's color when it gets wet [Excellent]
3) Hair color now is much brighter [some will love it, some will hate it]
4) Ponytail color is a bit paler than the rest of the hair under most lighting, and it doesn't get wet under rain.
5) Ponytail has yellow\brown-ish parts that I'm not sure if they're there by design or not, but they were always there so it's not any change you did for 1.2
Here are some screenshots:
My own opinion: I seriously love that you were able to remove that grey tint, I'm going to try and use the mdf file you edited with other hair textures and see the results. nvm i misunderstood how textures work
I personally prefer a darker red hair color, and maybe in the future you can make an alternative version with that.

I'm updating a few more minor things to do with the jacket and top. It'll be up soon. Thanks for the find! Amazing what you can miss even when it's right in front of you.
