Hello shiryu ,
i like play RE HD in the way it was conceived in 2002 , then using all loading screens 3D doors , my question is :
after all what you have planned to do and is good idea divide everything into several releases , about improves textures of 3D doors (Diffuse and maybe also Normal and Specular maps) , i know there is a ton of doors but i believe that Doors are a important part of game --> something that introduces you to a room , it would be very nice can improve also this game aspect , just an idea.
This is a MUST HAVE MOD , again Thanks for your contribute Man ! |^_~|

Hello , really interesting Visual result !
Yes , the noise filter used by game is a little a nuisance , but apart this filter , it's very nice result on 2D backgrounds images resampled as cleaned image with Suppress Noise to 100 (Gigapixel AI) : on your second example first post (dining room) , just need to do a fast look to floor where is very noticeble the noise (smooth surface) , but what i seen by your other images even paintings and many other stuff really improves ! (^ç^)
We hope shiryu can add all this to REupscale mod , currently i'm very satisfied of his mod but if things can be improved again , why don't do it !

For what it's worth, I like the grain. Also, while for the most part the denoising looks fine, some of those images (take imgsli.com/MTYxNjI, for example) start to look a little plastic-y or painterly after (see the wall to the right of Jill). It's, I suppose, like the big DNR debate.

The fact is that's hard ignore a such visual improvement , always i'm talking of first comparison Morio has posted (first post without graphic mod) , then only using 2D backgrounds texture : to example on wood floors/walls , in several cases the wood veins are not or very few visible with grain saved on image , but removing it all those details become FULLY visible , the grain tend to hide really much details of backgrounds.
Then , if game normally add noise filter , ok , but in this case it would do on CLEAN images source and in my opinion , it's a very good result , hard to ignore.
- EDIT
I accurately checked every comparison provided by Morio , unfortunately before i had not enough time to do it and i must correct what i said :
remove grain effect by a side it bring clreaner images and more visible details but , in other cases some image parts become too much stylized , then is better leave things so , we are very happy of new release since 1.5a has improved once again 2D backgrounds quality than 1.0 !
Waiting 1.5b ..

So much better! Now the bgs are as neat as the ones from Zero.

Nah, getting too washed out as reaccount put it, I believe Shiryu achieved the maximum you could squish-out from those Gamecube backgrounds without messing details out or adding obvious AI Upscaling downsides like those watery paint looks and stuff. I just wish he would finish his work on FMVs and animated backgrounds, the latter ones are in desperate need of a very careful upscaling and cleaning up.

So much better! Now the bgs are as neat as the ones from Zero. Hello , i have also been deceived by a first superficial look , then i checked with calm every image treated and i realized that is not worth it since several images details tend to be erased or "covered" with this filter , not to mention that Final result often is a image with flat details with washed out surfaces , in general things tend to lose own consistency. The treatment/manipulation od 2D images is a thing that i like to do , but we must be careful to these -miraculous- filters because almost always those give you something but they also take away something.
When i created my ver. of Snake door :
i used as base 2 frames provided by shiryu , upscaled with A.I. Gigapixel but without filters applied and i could have changed some images parameters but i didn't do it to remain faithful to original backgrounds style and the grain is part of it.
shiryu , you did an excellent work on 2D backgrounds with first 2 releases and i am waiting with renewed interest Next updates. ^^

it has a flaw: in the room with the moose head, parts of the carpet are "elevated" up to the head, the transparency borders are completely butchered here -

I dont know if vanilla has the same problem as I didnt play without REupscale to that room
