Alright so, regarding this, not much progress lately since I've been a bit busy, but I'll be back at this pretty soon.

hopped on over from the 1998 models project. I'm a new fan of yours Zealot This is awesome work you're doing. Btw, I noticed that in your screenshot of Hunk's head from within your tool, the model itself seems to be lying on the floor facing up? I can only fancy a guess that maybe it's because 3DS max uses the Z as the vertical axis? btw - is your tool available for other members of the forum?

Update regarding the tool: hey hey! Thank you for your response. By all means, take all the time you need ~ Believe me I hate deadlines. Especially since you are doing this out of passion, please do enjoy and work at your own pace. I'm not an authority on max script, but I have a decent amount of experience with language. I'd gladly like to help, if I could have a looksy at the script, I (hope) I can come back to you with information that could be useful for your work
edit:
I have absolutely no experience on how to make normals or textures and the like. it's a little bit outside the of scope of what I can do. (This is why I have mad respect for guys like you who try to reverse engineer everything). But I what you said earlier about the vertex count, the bone ids being mixed up is maybe something i can help you with.

@zealot, Just to check with you ~ you mentioned in your previous reply that someone gave you a maxscript file. I was wondering if this is the same one - or if it's not connected at all to what you said. Because at first glance (as i look at the script - its mostly about handing vertex, skin and bone info). There' s an accompanying python file that comes with it but it's its only for the import process to noesis.
Anyway if the maxscript i downloded at is not what you were looking at, would you mind sharing it? I'd really love to have a look at it. Regards, J edit: I took some time to study up on that board, and i managed to learn how to get the meshes directly into 3Ds max via that same maxscript they made there. Check out hunk
Anyway I'm happy in that i can now investigate the standard way they structure their rigs, and I hope i can help you on the rigging side for the purpose of importing custom meshes into the game

@zealot Tormunds Nice ! How did you re-import it ingame tho ? Is there a .mesh exporter for 3ds max ? I should be able reshape Claire's face and re-import it ingame with this script right ?

Hey guys, an important update regarding the tool! Since a 3DS Max script is being worked on by someone (Maliwei I think it is?), there's no need for me to continue working on this. My tool's performance is really bad and the community benefits way more by having a 3DS script that works as intended, made by someone a lot more experienced than I am hahaha. I will however release a small tool in a few days to scale and reposition meshes, but that's as far as I will go, as a full importer is probably just around the corner!

Cool as it is that someone's working on a Maxscript, I wouldn't stop working on yours. Just in case theirs never comes to fruition.

If someone colud make a script that actually works on Blender or something free, that would be nice too. Having the older Resident Evil games exclusive to a paid program that isn't available anymore (Max 2012) isn't fair for someone like me, who can't afford it. Not like I can afford this game yet either.

A user named 777 released a full nude mod for Claire (I cannot post the link, but it's easy to find) that uses a completely custom made mesh. Is there any info on how he did it? so i did a quick search on the guy - Maliwei777... oh boy.. he seems to have a *cough interesting history with resident evil... and modding...
i didnt find his name on the members list tho.

Is the tool available yet ? It looks fun/dumb indeed but i'd still like to give it a try.
