I thinks that's true for a lot of videogames, films, TV shows and other media. Greatness requires a consistency of vision which usually only sadly exists among individuals and not a collaborative team these days. As for the RE5 fiasco in light of RE0's development. It was an example of rushing deadlines and publishers setting deadlines that the developer teams can't always guarantee. Yes patches do come out but it's becoming a scam to alot of people. Like getting a steak in small portions throughtout the day than having the meal all at once. So now we as consumers are gonna to have to resist the urge of purchasing pre-orders (With Extra exclusive pre-order content). Some companies like Bethesda have to constantly patch their games after the release but they have always had a reputation for this due to the scale and dynamics of their games. Games like RE5, RE Remaster HD or whatever are not big open world games with constant aspects running in the background. They are linear compact hallways, they don't need continual patches after the release date BECAUSE they should be completely polished in the first place, and that sometimes that means delaying the game for release which does happen but seems like it needs to be reminded for publishers to really stop prioritizing deadlines over quality. As unacceptable as it is ultimately I wouldn't mind if it (RE5) was released broken as long as they would patch everything up, but now it seems that the game is abandoned and forgotten about. It's funny, because DarkSamus gave me his code for the game and I can't help but feel that his good will was wasted on me. Due to all the problems that have surfaced I have absolutely no intention of finishing it or playing the game at all. Had I known this beforehand I would've never asked him about the code and let him give it to someone who would appreciate it more... Well that's kinda of a subjective thing. In the end everyone is deserving of a game they can enjoy. Hopefully with enough bitching from the public, maybe they'll head back to patching RE5.

Here's the deal about Kojima- the game is almost entirely a representatnion of his vision, like Mikami for RE1 and Kamiya in case of RE2. Capcom from what I know doesn't have visionaries of this caliber anymore, just a bunch of yes-men probably. I'm kinda thankful that RE0 has it's original director on board- maybe he won't let them half ass the game.... I thinks that's true for a lot of videogames, films, TV shows and other media. But remember to take a few days off the gym, my gym comrade. Unless you will destroy your joints very quickly. And yet . . . . . I'll solemnly swear over Redfield I will hit the gym hard tomorrow!

I was gonna go to the gym and then I didn't and thought "Let's have a rest day!" and played Skyrim instead and saw how buff my character was and well now I'm feeling this:

Alien Isolation is the scariest game in recent years for me, but now I think I've become desensitized from it, due to playing it so much. Games that scared me in the past included: RE2 (When I was a wee lad, now I find it fun but corny) Fatal Frame 2 (Had recurring dreams of those damned ghosts during my teens) RE Remake was tense but not really scary for me. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

it was obviously a Japanese-made concept, and since the series likes to pretend that it's aimed at Western audiences it should also translate to the visual style of the costumes in the game. CAPCOM should commission Western artists to make concepts for their games. Sexualized costumes are not an exclusively Japanese developer issue in video-games. Many Western games feature unrealistic clothing/attire for women in games. Much of Western culture is equally sexualized when compared to Japan also. The motto "Sex sells" is a strong trend in marketing for all cultures and industries. Sometimes "sexy" costumes are just a gimmick specifically there for audiences. However Capcom has also pushed the boundaries by sexualizing men in their games to an extent as well. Commissioning artists of different cultures, really depends on the artistic direction of the whole team. There have been many great examples of Japanese minds who interpreted aspects of Western culture and fused it with their own culture and made something wonderfully universal. (Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are some examples of anime that do this) I disagree that "western" artists should be commissioned by Capcom as Western artists have their own agenda too and that can create even more visual inconsistency in alot of cases. Capcom need only change it's writers and directors. The anime-esque costumes are indeed fan service, but than again that does indeed appeal to some people. Should Eastern cultures exclusively only render their own cultures then on the flipside?! I know you're only talking about the costume but it also opens the door into a greater discussion about art and stuff in general. Creativity is sometimes more so about misinterpretation than the exact perception of a culture. As some of the greatest works in Western Art were inspired by Eastern Art and people interpreting them within own cultural biases. (The French impressionist painters were inspired by the aesthetics of Japanese wood block prints) The reality is Resident Evil aka Biohazard is not only marketed at Western audiances. It also has a strong fanbase in Japan as well, so if anything Capcom is exploiting it's own country's marketing nuances by making an animesque costume. I'd rather have an optional sexualized costume than a character who is sexualized in every manner of their movement and dialogue. (Fiona Belli being an example who was also produced by Capcom)

I'm guilty of such petty de-motivation: But then I have to remember that: Achieving greatness:

Silly video from D.C. Douglas and Mary McGlynn (Albert and Alex VA's). I think you might like the way it ends, Beefy Busch. I agree with the ending
