Edit: Until I come to a better solution here's what you need to know about arc sound files:
1. you can't make any changes to the wav form. if you make any single change, a "compressed lossy format" message pops up and when you save and repack it the game would definitely crash with the core00.srqr error (don't you even think about your own custom wav)
2. you can't even edit the metadata infos there (the same scenario)....
3. you need to have the "Save extra none-audio information" as checked on the export window otherwise... (the same issue)....
All in all it's impossible to make any changes... It's very weird cause I compared the two files (the original and the modified one) and the specs are exactly alike....
I guess it has a lot to do with the header or some extra editions on hex editors.
If you have any info regarding the file don't hesitate to share it...
Thx

I've been using and enjoying mods from this website for a long time and never had any issues up until now. The reason why I created this thread was to know why my game crashes every time I edit .sngw files.
I thought the procedure was the same as other Resident Evil audio files having this extension. I mean rename it to .ogg, make your changes and rename it back to .sngw.
I'm using Adobe Audion 7.0 and it works perfectly fine for Resident Evil 5 but I have no idea why it just keeps crashing on REHDR... I've also tried other programs like Audacity or other formatting tools like Format Factory and the result was interesting:
Adobe Audition + Audacity = The game freezes Format Factory = A message pops up saying it could not find the file in question.
I also tried to get the file information and export it as such:
The original file result:
General Complete name : r106_01_03.sngw Format : OGG File size : 49.0 KiB Duration : 3s 733ms Overall bit rate : 107 Kbps LoopStart : -1 LoopEnd : -1 Ver : 0001 Time : 20140924232644
Audio ID : 30986 (0x790A) Format : Vorbis Format settings, Floor : 1 Duration : 3s 733ms Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 160 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 72.9 KiB Writing library : libVorbis 20090709 (UTC 2009-07-09)
here's the result exported with Adobe Audition:
General Complete name : r106_01_00.ogg Format : OGG File size : 52.5 KiB Duration : 3s 400ms Overall bit rate : 126 Kbps Writing application : libsndfile
Audio ID : 1512949212 (0x5A2DC5DC) Format : Vorbis Format settings, Floor : 1 Duration : 3s 400ms Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 160 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 66.4 KiB Writing library : libVorbis (Schaufenugget) (20101101 (Schaufenugget))
and here with Format Factory:
General Complete name : r106_00_00.ogg Format : OGG File size : 235 KiB Duration : 10s 27ms Overall bit rate : 192 Kbps Writing application : Lavf55.19.100 LOOPSTART : -1 LOOPEND : -1 VER : 0001 TIME : 20140924232645
Audio ID : 3374804145 (0xC9276CB1) Format : Vorbis Duration : 10s 27ms Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Writing library : Lavf55.19.100 No Steam Size and No Bit rate... Also the Writing Library is way different Is that the reason why the "could not find" error message pops up ?
All in all, am I really missing something here cause I can't find any info about this! or do I need any modding tool ?
