So if I copy that file into the LFS dir, and run the same process with the r101.udas.lfs you shared earlier (LFS extract, UDAS extract and repack) I get the same result - the game hanging. The output files all look the same - linked below. www.mediafire.com/folder/tdifnl1zjanf0/20201214

Well I am clueless as to how I can help. I have alerted Son of Persia about the issue. He said he will work on a new version, but says he is fairly busy. I will keep the community updated of any developments.

UDAS TOOL ISSUE UPDATE... So after doing some more tests it seems that the udas.lfs files from the latest download (v.1.10) differ from those of the 1.0.6 version. I thought maybe this was the culprit, but alas it was not. Even when sending another person the exact same file, it simply would not repack the same way it did on my machine. Also Biohazard4X and I ran some tests this evening (he was having the same problem where his UDAS tool would not repack the udas files properly).. I suggested that we test the RE4HD project UDAS files with his udas tool and it seemed work fine (we tested about 6-7 different room files)... all files repacked without any changes. So my suggestion for a workaround (until the tool is updated, or the mystery is resolved), that users use the RE4HD project UDAS files as the base for any mods (this really should be the base for any mod IMO because this project is the standard now that all users will be using). Happy Modding

To save those the time who are wanting to do this and save the hassle of downloading a 18gb file I have included Links for EM, ST1, ST2, and ST3 UDAS files to download all in there own individual folder. These are just folders taken right from Alberts mod then just compiled up and share here so. Hoping the tool gets fixed soon. EM Folder ST1 Folder ST2 Folder
ST3 Folder

Hello, I am trying to change the name of the "Shotgun Shells", but I do not know where to look to find the data I need to edit. I believe it's somewhere in the core.udas.lfs file, but as soon as I unpack that, I get lost.
Edit: I found what file to open, but now when I repack everything, the game never starts up.

You will need to explain what tools you were using, what steps you took etc if you want me to help. Be specific. Thanks! First, I use the LFS tool to decompress the file, then the UDAS tool to separate it into it's core files, then open up core_17.mdt and edit the text shown in-game. I repacked the MDT file using the supplied tool, then the UDAS file. However, I can't figure out how to use the LFS repacker, so instead of repacking it, I put the file back into the Etc folder (since other files that replace that one don't require the LFS extension). Is it the repacking that I'm doing wrong?

Sounds like you have done everything right, except you should know that we can not re-compress LFS files. Simply putting the modified core.udas file in the Etc folder should work (make sure you rename the core.udas.lfs to core.udas.lfs.bak so it is not read by the game).
Next is troubleshooting. I suspect that you may suffer from the same problem that has plagued so many users on this forums. Run a simple test for me:
1 - Copy and then decompress the core.udas.lfs file. (the copy is your backup). You will get the file core.udas after decompression. 2 - Unpack this new core.udas file, then repack it without making any changes. 3 - Place the file in the Etc folder 4 - rename the core.udas.lfs to core.udas.lfs.bak so it is not read by the game. 5 - Start game
If you have a crash, delete this core.udas, and rename the original core.udas.lfs.bak to core.udas.lfs. If the game loads properly then we have an issue with the UDAS tool
Thanks and let me know.

When I decompress the core.udas.lfs file into core.udas, it runs fine. As soon as I open it up in the UDAS tool and repack it, it refuses to run. I'm thinking that something in the tool is changing the format of the udas file so it's unrecognizable by RE4UHD. If you have any coding experience, could you take a look at it and see if it's changing the code of the udas file? If not, maybe the original creator could take a look at it.

Please read the thread if you want more details of the numerous tests that were done with this tool, and the associated problems with it. I have contacted Son of Persia about investigating the issue further, but have not heard any reply. Since I have no one has access to the source code of this tool, and that I have no experience in coding this kind of thing, I am sad to say that I can not help with this issue other than to keep informing SoP that the tool is still not working for many users. Sorry!

Hey I was thinking.. send me your MDT file and I will repack it for you in the UDAS. THis way we can test if it works on your system.
Cheers

I have an error in quickbms that says Error: incomplet input file number 0, can't read 54012 bytes. anyway don't worry, it's possible that the BMS script has been written to exit in this way if it's reached the end of the archive so check it or contact its author or verify that all the files have been extracted
