Anyone have any ideas? Game is is mess when it comes to data storage, so many repetitive textures wasting so many space and its hard to tell where each one used.
To make sure that your texture changes will work in very case, you need to find all instances of same texture and replace it, or need to have exact list of what used in a game and where and whats unused at all.
Since we dont have any list, i think its good idea to use any duplicate image searching software with dds and tga support, anyone knows really good one, which can search size independant, find really similar textures and batch replace them with one selected image?

an app can be made later for this purpose by calculating the checksum of each image, if the checksum is the same so it is the same pic , as you said we just need to a list.

If i had the knowlege i would create a program that enabled the game to read a mod folder before launching the game defaults... all your files would go in the mod folder in it's proper location made neater. You would never need to change the main game files ever again.. it would aslo solve issues with having multiple mods in the same folder, not had that issues yet but the re4 uhd modding has only just begun.
The game would read the mod folder, and for things it cannot find it would load up the original files.
