Alone in Africa mod was originally created by Simplesim and FluffyQuack so the credit for whole ideas goes to them. The mod was for GFWL version and is basically no where to be found now, so I create one myself. Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape are also supported.
The mod is done by removing partner section part of HUD and making partners invisible & invincible & make no sounds (they'll still be there). In addition, cutscenes are also edited so there'll be no floating head or floating guns in cutscenes.
More info about partner :
1. Invisible : Done by trimming out the entire character models and their knife.
2. Invincible : Emptied out hit boxes of characters. However, they can still be killed by scripted stuffs such as incinerators, QTE fails.
3. Sounds : No sound effect, no voice commands. Dialogues in stages/cutscenes are still the same.
4. Action : They can still use weapons. Their melee attack won't hit anything except the instant kill moves (Neck breaker , Head grab, etc) they can't use their knife (no motion). They'll still save you from dying, heal, open door, pick up item though. Enemies are still seeing and try attacking them as usual.

Notes :
- This mod (Remove Partner HUD) is not compatible with others HUD related mods such as PS button by DarkSamus.

Known Issues :
- In chapter 3-2, Josh will also become invincible for Sheva since he shares the same hit boxes with invincible Chris.
- You'll have to unavoidably give a gun to your partner in some part such as chapter 6-1 elevator switch, LiN spike ceiling trap.
- Floating guns still appear in mini-cutscenes in game.

RE5 is by far my least favourite entry in the franchise partly because of the whole partner hassle which makes the game a chore to play solo... And it makes you hate Sheva undeservingly, Chris is just as dumb when you play as her.
