Please remind me about this in the weeks to come. thanks Hey sorry it took so long for me to return didnt realize this was so old of a post I made, I hope it doesnt get locked please! maybe now is the perfect time for this mod to happen I was recently reading on RE4HD.com about Cris/albert improving the resolution of Adas separate video pack, so I remembered this post and wanted to give a shoutout to either Mr.Curious or @raz0r to maybe help with creating this idea? I’ll do some tests to see if this is possible. I’m not sure switching between campaigns will work.

I understand if its not possible, I just think its a shame capcom didnt work them in originally, I get they were added in later and lazily, but it would be more interesting if they actually felt part of the story as you progressed instead of just being tacked on at the end What I was thinking was something like a teleporter room, but strictly for the ada missions. It could work one of 2 ways... Maybe at the end of a chapter it could ask players "Would you like to play Separate Ways" yes/no? and if they choose No it returns them to their previous location (or whatever next chapter they are on). if they choose Yes then it loads the Ada mission matching the current leon mission, and returns the player to the next leon chapter after completing the ada mission. Each of Adas 5-6 missions should be played at a different point within Leons story The other way it could work is to have a certain location within the map that the player could access/enter and then have a menu pop-up asking if they would like to play Separate Ways. If it were possible and you could get it working easily, it would be cool if the player could select separate ways, the report files, or assignment ada (well assignment ada should only be accessible in chapter 5-1). Also, players should be able to select chapters, but only based on the chapter they are currently on (so you wouldnt be able to play Ada chapter 5 while still on chapter 1 for leon) It doesnt matter if the kill ratio or shot %s combine or not, but it would be cool if it kept track of that too. Though I could see this being a problem for saving Adas ammo/health etc Thanks either way, at least for just checking it out

I really do like this idea.. here's the thing though. If we teleport Leon in to SW he stays as Leon. There is no way to tell the game "I'm playing as Ada now" (other than to use a trainer to swap characters) but we still have the issue of trying to use a separate inventory. Even if we changed characters with a trainer before entering the new room you would still have all of Leon's previous inventory.
Essentially what you are trying to do it play 2 games side by side. It is possible to transport back and forth between campaigns, but I'm not sure progress in either one would be consistent. The enemy files seem to load fine gong back and forth though.
I might have been able to help you with the help of Raz0r , but he has ghosted this site and there is no way I know how to write scripts to make any of this really work. essentially we need something that tells the game to switch players and their relative inventories at certain doorway changes. I dont think it would be that hard... and I do think it would be possible but only with Raz0r's help.
Razor has expressed extreme anger towards me so there's no way this is gong to happen unless you find another coder who is ready to get to work.

Maybe if there is a way for you to get it working with out the inventory swapping, maybe somebody else (like raz0r) could work on the inventory aspect. Would you mind throwing together a quick demo? just to demonstrate swapping stages between leon and separate ways? maybe if raz0r sees some progress in this idea he'd be more willing to complete it for us it would be cool just to see leon go from the end of chapter 2-2, to separate ways ch1, and back to leon at the start of 2-3... oh and theres no need to rush if youre busy currently, but maybe at some point in the future hmmm thats too bad according to RE4hd.com he has been helping Cris&albert recently with improving the video quality in Separate Ways, which is what reminded me about this idea. I tried msging albert, but he hasnt responded about this idea yet. I know C&A are not trying to make any major mods outside of the texture reworking, but I really wish they would consider adding this one idea into their project Well thanks again, maybe somebody else will notice this thread and be up for the challenge or I'll try to see what Albert has to say, and then maybe I'll eventually get a chance to talk to Raz0r at some point... I'll be patient, he helped me get the quick-inventory mod working in his trainer a few years ago too! I suppose this idea should be broken into 2 halves: Part 1 = modding certain stages to have a special marker to swap back and forth between SW/AA and back to the standard story (similar to the teleporter room). One concern with this though, would be loading video cutscenes and/or the report files? Part 2 = swapping characters w/ inventory, which would probably require a trainer from Raz0r, and it would require 2 options for "Storing/Reloading Weapons" for both Leon and Ada. The only problem is that it would require alt+tabbing back and forth between the game and the trainer but I suppose it would still be faster than using the standard in-game menus, plus it would probably carry over the death, kill count and shot % scores

While I really enjoy your enthusiasm, I dont think you understood what I said about Razor. He and I had a falling out and there is no way we will work together.
Secondly, I am working on this biggest mod ever made for this game which has already taken 2 years out of my life. I am 98% done, and still have sooo much work to do, so the truth is I don't have time to make demos of what I was talking about.
I guarantee Albert is swamped too. Also I think his project is really only improving the visuals of the game, not re-creating new scenarios like I have done.
I hope someone with the talent and time decides to take this on, but really I have no time to lend at the moment. If someone with coding skills steps up I can lend my expertise then.
