- Lastly but not least, the most annoying one: random crashes, more if you have files modded, because the exe has a memory leak somewhere that makes this game the worse port in history and a piece of utter crap that no amount of modding can save it Just so you know if your running 64 bit Windows there is an exe you can use that doesn't crash. Because the exe is designed to handle more memory by using 64 bit it stops the memory leak being an issue (ie... no more crashes) In case someone reads this and wants it you can get it here

Thanks for the response, but I already knew it about this fix, it uses some modified exe with 4GB patch, but sadly it doesn't change the other flaws I listed...

Marcello -30 FPS is not a problem to me concerning RE4 (we are not talking about a First person shooter or a Driving game so number of Frames per second don't matter.... moreover the 30 FPS provides some kind of an old film display pace so it gives a film noir ambience/atmosphere) -same with filters which are lighter and better than on the ps3/360/pc2014 version) i.cubeupload.com/hBdD3n.png (seriously this is horrible) -my game never crashed when not using texmod -you can find a ps3 sound pack mod on the net (even if i dont find the pc port sound crappy) -you can solve the shadder problem by emulating them (using some lightnening -see ENB- and texture mods) - loading times: i am using a SSD so i had never more than 4-5 seconds loading times everytime i played -no realtime cutscene: .............. dude, grabb the HD cinematics pack on the web (i admit the ADA separate ways one is hard to get though) no.... really. Right now i prefer my pc2007 version to the 2014 steam version. Perhaps things will change in 2-3 years (with mods for the 2014 version) but now, i really hate that new port (things look as if they had been done very fast, no matter if you watch the textures, the sound synchronisation, the pop in, or whateverelse)

Trust me when I tell you this port is FAR better than the 2007 could ever been. I am not a new guy to the RE4 modding scene, I was back then in 2007 when there wasn't any tools for the old 2007 PC port, when we all were on the old RE4 z6.invisionfree.com/Resident_Evil_4_PC forum.
What I am trying to say is that the old PC port is just broken and flawed, because its weak PS2 base engine, I already have the HD textures 2.0 by Albert, the HD Cutscenes made by matrixcn and the ENB dll for RE4 by Boris and a ton of models made by the likes of satyr and dr. emuler...yet that game simply don't have what this new steam properly done port has.
For me the biggest changes would be real 60FPS (no more headaches while playing, believe it or not I am too sensitive to FPS below 60) and no loading times. As for the current slowdowns I am working right now on disable the problematic particle sfxs that causes it.
