Greetings friends. I am trying to finish this porting this 2007 model to RE4 UHD on Steam, but having a difficulty with replacing the hands. The model I am trying to replace is Leon.
So far I have identified the following hand files for Leon:
(values at end of name are BIN/TPL numbers of original files) example:
Right Hand (14-13) = Right hand pl00_14.BIN pl00_013.TPL
Right Hand (14-13)
Right Hand (15-13)
Left Hand (16-13)
Left Hand (17-13)
Left Hand (18-13)
Left Hand (19-13)
Left Hand (20-13)
Left Hand (21-13)
After messing around, i think I have discovered that some of the right and left hand share this pl00_013.TPL, but there are interchangeable items too i think. Its very confusing.
I have observed that none of the other files for Leon have hands in them (like weapon models for example), but if these files are changes, so do the hands files. Right now I am not sure of the relationship between the hand model files, and the weapon model files. Son of Persia said:
"The right hand model is mainly stored with weapons. So to get the full right hand working with all weapons you have to replace the right hand in every single weapon model", this seems about right, but I do not see any evidence of this in the folders. I would like some clarification on this if anyone knows.
In my tests I repacked & replaced every single one of the above BIN/TP files with a new hand model to determine which hand model files were being used by the game. Even after replacing ALL these files with my new hand model, I was not able to replace Leon's original right hand model. I was only successful in replacing Leon's original left hand model. After trying another model, I was able to make Leon's right hand disappear while holstered. The way these files are layed out is extremely confusing!
EDIT - I am able to properly replace some of the hand flies, but their position is all wrong. I have tried importing the original hand SMD files into my hand model project to use as a reference as to where it should be placed (this eds up being right where Leon models arms end).. You would think this would be the correct position, but it ends up floating there beside the character instead of being attached to the arms.
Does anyone here have any experience replacing the hand model files?
