I've been messing around with making mods in Blender, and while I can make some, I also have troubles with generating normal maps(NM) for them. I have both PS and GIMP. I tried the normal map plugin in GIMP, used default settings and also tried messing with it, but nothing happened, it just made the texture of the model in-game look flat. I'm really clueless how to do it, so some step-by-step can be really helpful..

hmm why not PS ?
it haves a way better plugin and its from Nvidia xD
altho since this is okay of a tutorial the only thing you need to do is Cut the RED layer and put it as Alpha
becuase Re6 uses different kind of Normal maps xD
thats the only change you need to do oh and make the red and blue layers white
and then save it as DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha
and you are done :3

Oh EvilLord to the rescue! I just happen to have GIMP ready on my laptop from before, I also have PS, but I just have to reinstall it again.^^ I'll review the vid after I install Photoshop and follow along your instructions. Thank you very much!><

Ahaha I'll dissect every word from the tutorial vid and your instructions and hopefully I'll get most of it so I can get back at you with some nice results. PS is taking sooo long to install that's why I'm kinda hesitant to install it in the first place...I just downloaded the NVIDIA plugin!(so excited) oh and I followed you in Tumblr back then, btw.^^

Why, what's the problem with 3ds max script? Actually this script also has its inconsistency. When a mod is viewed from afar (except when using scope) the hands disappear. Albeit hardly noticeable: But since there's only a few of those shots, only happens when opening doors or when in cutscenes, and isn't anything game-breaking, I think it's only a minor problem, no biggie.

Rigging and exporting mostly ;D i tried modding a new costume for ada but i cant make it work at all so i gave up xD and yeah i know maybe you made the hands LOD to zero ?

Nope. I never mess around with those bothersome hands. I think it's a bug with the script itself, since older versions of blender tend to have problems with the hands too, I read on the original thread that some instances, the hands never appeared. I have played with my homebrew mods with blender since last year and thank God, it only vanishes during faraway camera angles. But really, I hope to encounter a fix to this...
So that's why you haven't been modding lately...thought you went on a hiatus. I also hit a block with a mod I'm making for Ada, with a messed up rig on both arms.
Btw, I just finished Sherry's mod, I'll just post it after it gets done uploading.^^
