I recently found some information on this website on a thread that was created to help users create custom configurations for their controllers for Resident Evil 4. While I found this very helpful, I have ran into an issue that I need to resolve. Essentially what is happening is that the left stick and right stick are both acting as Zoom while I am using the riffles, making it impossible for me to aim while using the sniper rifle.
I am running Resident Evil 4 on Steam and I have modified the input. Ini file as follows:
###XINPUT_CONTROLLER_C
KEY_FORWARD = QKEY_GC_B4 KEY_FORWARD = QKEY_GC_B20 KEY_BACK = QKEY_GC_B3 KEY_BACK = QKEY_GC_B19 KEY_RIGHT = QKEY_GC_B2 KEY_RIGHT = QKEY_GC_B18 KEY_LEFT = QKEY_GC_B1 KEY_LEFT = QKEY_GC_B17 KEY_KAMAE = QKEY_GC_B6 KEY_RELOCKON = QKEY_GC_B8 KEY_RUN = QKEY_GC_B10 KEY_RUN = QKEY_GC_B11 KEY_FIRE = QKEY_GC_B9 KEY_ASHLEY = QKEY_GC_B5 KEY_CK = QKEY_GC_B9 KEY_KAMAE_KNIFE = QKEY_GC_B7 KEY_ST = QKEY_GC_B13 KEY_OPTION = QKEY_GC_B14 KEY_C_U = QKEY_GC_B24 KEY_C_D = QKEY_GC_B23 KEY_Y = QKEY_GC_B9 KEY_X = QKEY_GC_B12 KEY_B = QKEY_GC_B10 KEY_B = QKEY_GC_B11 KEY_A = QKEY_GC_B9 KEY_SSCRN = QKEY_GC_B13 KEY_MAP = QKEY_GC_B12 KEY_LB = QKEY_GC_B7 KEY_RB = QKEY_GC_B6 KEY_U = QKEY_GC_B4 KEY_U = QKEY_GC_B20 KEY_D = QKEY_GC_B3 KEY_D = QKEY_GC_B19 KEY_R = QKEY_GC_B2 KEY_R = QKEY_GC_B18 KEY_L = QKEY_GC_B1 KEY_L = QKEY_GC_B17 KEY_Z = QKEY_GC_B5 KEY_Z = QKEY_GC_B8 KEY_EV_CANCEL = QKEY_GC_B14 KEY_CANCEL = QKEY_GC_B10 KEY_CANCEL = QKEY_GC_B11 KEY_OK = QKEY_GC_B9 KEY_LL = QKEY_GC_B1 KEY_LR = QKEY_GC_B2 KEY_LD = QKEY_GC_B3 KEY_LU = QKEY_GC_B4 KEY_C_R = QKEY_GC_B22 KEY_C_L = QKEY_GC_B21 I am now wondering which lines I need to edit to fix the issue. Essentially the right stick is the input that is supposed to act as the Zoom, while the left stick is supposed to be for aim, however presently both sticks are performing both actions (aim and zoom) while in first person.
What is very odd is that the analog stick zoom behavior is properly functioning while in the map mode. Im starting to think this is a bug, but I haven't read about this anywhere.

Try going to the link in my sig. Sounds like you need x360ce to make the controller work in X-Input mode.

I am running Resident Evil 4 on Steam using x360e Xinput to a PS2 controller via Twin USB adapter which works great in all other games (GTA V on steam, and Dolphin Emulator games). All buttons are properly mapped in x360e, each putting out a different output signal. The problem seems on the game side, as the buttons work fine in map mode on RE4.
It seems many of these lines of code in the input.ini file do nothing discernible. I removed each line one at a time to see what each of them did. Removing the following entries had no seeming effect on game play:
(camera mapping) KEY_C_R = QKEY_GC_B21 KEY_C_L = QKEY_GC_B22 KEY_C_U = QKEY_GC_B24 KEY_C_D = QKEY_GC_B23
(unknown mapping) KEY_LL = QKEY_GC_B1 KEY_LR = QKEY_GC_B2 KEY_LD = QKEY_GC_B3 KEY_LU = QKEY_GC_B4
(Look Left/Right) KEY_C_R = QKEY_GC_B22 KEY_C_L = QKEY_GC_B21)
(Look Up/Down and Zoom In/Out on Bottlecap and Map screens) KEY_LB = QKEY_GC_B7 KEY_RB = QKEY_GC_B6 I'm not sure which link you meant when you said the one in your signature, as there seemed to be more than more. I am not sure what I need to do, as deleting the input.ini file and letting a default one load does not solve the problem.

hey, thanks for the reply. Please don't get confused. I wasnt asking for anyone to make me a config. I simply need some insight as to how this is possible to have both sticks performing both actions. If I used my logitech controller there is no issue there.

I don't think it's possible on UHD (only on 2007 version) it would be great tho if someone could find out.

It's totally possible, just depends on the controller. I'm just wondering why it's different on the PS2 controller. It sucks not being able to use my PS2 controller that works fine in all other games

You are asking for the impossible.

You can't do that, simple as that, you can only implent single action on each button (control) so you will have to either think about something or add from a keyboard (e.g command ashley) and i think it will never be possible.

Believe me mate, I spent a good month studying the RE4UHD config file to see what I could change and made mods to suit some of those possibilities.
I have pointed you to the mods in my sig where there is about 5 different configs over the first 2 pages but you just don't seem interested.

I'm not sure you guys understand understand what I described as the problem, so I will say again.
Im RE4 HD The right stick is the input that is supposed to act as the Zoom, while the left stick is supposed to be for aim, however presently both sticks are performing both actions (aim and zoom) while in first person.
What is very odd is that the analog stick zoom behavior is properly functioning while in the map mode. Im starting to think this is a bug, but I haven't read about this anywhere.

I use an xbox360 cuz it works perfectly without problems, but I wish I could use a gamecube controller! I posted about this before, I use a mayflash GC adaptor and it works fine in Dolphin but not this game. Seems like nobody has any interest in using the games original control scheme? Maybe Ill try looking into this a little more when I have time, but I guess Ill never see the QTEs match anyway

finally figured it out by adjusting the input.ini file. The riffle now aims on left stick and zooms on right stick on the Twin USB with PS2. This took me months to figure out!
I am using x360ce 3.2.8.77
here are the two configs that work hand in hand:
FIRST the input.ini config:
