It's worth noting that even though RE2 had no returning characters make a PHYSICAL appearance, they were still referenced. Claire was searching for Chris, the S.T.A.R.S office is a thing, the mansion incident, so Petrichor's defense falls flat immediately. RE7 looks almost ENTIRELY unconnected, and I'm not buying the "just wait and see" bullshit, that's the bait companies use to get sales for bad products. Now this, is what people want, atleast a connection to the series. Honestly i'd rather would see it as a new (stand alone) game, then i would give it a chance.

If it was not a RE game everyone would dismiss it as a shitty attempt to rip off Outlast/Slender/Whatever

I personally Dont think UC Influenced the Camera change. That game is Only First person when you aim. I think it may have been Sony who has like "Oh Hey capcom! We have this VR Thingy And we will Pay you To build a Resident Evil title Around this" *2 Years later* BAM RE7!

i'd rather see it as an other game, a rip-off or something like that, because while it is called a "resident evil" it is mocking the entire series  .

Well now let's just hope that what they (CAPCOM) said were right. "This is just a teaser,it is very different than the actual game". I mean,can they just at least bring back old characters? Why did they made the teaser very different to the actual game? You're forgetting how story works, its not all just about the same people over & over again, note how RE2 brought leon & claire and nobody else, if they kept the same people they get boring RE needs more new people, getting really tired of the ones we've been getting, way too repetitive atm yep i agree on that point,but at least they could add 1 returning character.

Well, its your money, you have no reason to buy it The whole point of wait and see is if on the last day before release if you think the game is okay then you buy it. But we dont have enough info or at least i dont think we have enough info for people to start deciding they already dont want to buy it.

In RE2 in the cutscene where Hunk and his team assasinates Birkin and Birkin becomes a monster, the next thing shows William smashing Hunk and two other masked dudes who panicks fires at william but dies too. I thought the first dude was Hunk. Let alone the next two..

If wikipedia is to be believed RE7 has the same director and producer as Revelations 1. Up till now I was throwing these guys under the bus since I thought it's the same people who worked on Revelations 2 but considering that pile of garbage was spearheaded by someone else it makes me a bit more optimistic given that Revelations 1 was the last fairly good RE game. Thankfully they have a new writer because the story in both of these games (it was penned by the same guy) was just the worst.
