I'm hopping that discoveries made with RE2 will carry over to RE7

I don't think anyone WANTS to mod RE7, that's the problem.

What if RE Engine is barely moddable like Frostbite engine? I believe that there will be always a way to mod a game the problem is just the matter of love and passion for it

It makes me sad to see how much hate RE7 gets. I loved 6 in a sort of 'Tommy Wiseau' way but the actual gameplay got pretty stale and the level design was just meh. Exploring the Baker house took me back to REmake feels. Puzzlebox layout that unfolds naturally with just the right amount of backtracking. Counting your shots and planning routes, weird keys that don't quite make sense in context, I through it was Resident Evil all the way.
People are comparing it to the terrible Outlast/Amnesia stuff that are just spooky hide and seek games, but RE7 is nothing like that. It definitely fell of towards the end when you leave the baker estate but before that was just killer imo.
While there are more borrowed assets from 7 in 2 then I would like I was actually grateful for how much they carried over from 7 into RE2R because I felt 7 was such a strong RE experience mechanically but not aesthetically. And of course RE2R is better than 7 in almost every way though. It's definitely more of a survival horror experience than 4 I don't think anyone would disagree, but 4 had RE vibes to spare.

It fell off my list due to...maybe Breath of the Wild? Witcher 3? I can't recall exactly what knocked it off my playlist at the time, but I never got back around to it until the countdown for RE2.
And holy crap, I can't believe how underrated the game is - it's not perfect (nothing is) but it's every bit a goddamn masterpiece, and one of the best games I've played, period, in a long time.
Perhaps it was a mistake running through it so close to the release of RE2 because...seriously, the story of Ethan and the Bakers emphasize just how mediocre Leon and Claire really are. We all kind of give Leon a pass because 4 was such a fun whirlwind of a game, but he's basically boring AF. And Claire? There is nothing in RE2 or Veronica that renders her more than just "stock protagonist, female variant." Compare it to 7, where even Mia has depth - sleazy and contemptible, granted, but she's significantly more fleshed out as a character by a ridiculously large margin (I agree her portion of the gameplay was weak closing out, but damn it if she didn't start strong in the house!) And the Bakers...there wasn't a single moment in RE2 (both the first time around on PS1 and today) that caught me off guard as much as, say, Jack suddenly - in the middle of a boss fight - breaking down for a split second and crying out over "Marguerite!" There were other similarly moving (or disturbing) moments which make Resi7, to me, an exponentially more gripping and memorable installment than...all of the entries outside of the first, if I'm being 100% honest.
We all have our opinions, and surely there are those that prefer the more action-oriented installments such as 3, 4, 5 and...6? But even if it's not someone's cup of tea it would be pretty disingenuous to try and paint Resi7 as "bad." In fact, I'd be willing to bet the only people who legitimately "hate" the game are a.) those who've never actually played it or b.) folks who think Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is more gooderer than 2001: A Space Odyssey because that movie's like boring and dumb and stuff...

A and B are both wrong. thats black and white painting. I personally dont like any Action Movies.... i dont like most movies at all. I hate explosions and dragons. I dont care for Call of Duty and first person shooters in general. I dont like stupid and bad writing, thats why i cant stand Star Wars and Game of Thrones Season 8....... but im always in for deep and complex lore and storys, hence why i prefer Silent Hill above classic Resident Evil. Just theorizing about the meaning of the enemy designs is super fun!....ehem Its just cheap when people call anyone who prefers RE Games with actual gameplay, to some explosion hungry Michael Bay loving, 13 year old. RE 4, 5, 6 and REV 1 are just awesome!!! its BECAUSE that they make so much correct and awesome! that the few parts with dumb explosion and stupidity dont matter. RE 7 on the otherhand has nothing what made the older Games great. It is just simply boring and forgettable. There was nothing about it that entertained me, or made me curious about any of the events, or characters of its story. I dont hate it, I just deny its existence (when possible!) .............By the way, i have to agree that Claire and Chris Battlefield are both a little plain to me too. Normally im immediately sold when a game has a female protagonist, but despite playing multiple games with Claire, i never got really interested in her. At least i recognize her as a charackter, Ethan on contrary is just an empty husk.... .....and Chris is an half empty husk on steroids, wich likes to get his team killed and punching bolders on wednesdays. .....wich is already more personality than RE7.

Really RE7 or 3 is the worst than Outbreak: TNC? you can't compare a game released in 2003/2004 and another in 2017/2020
