If the game would have had such good reception, there wouldn´t be people justifying that it had a good reception nor people complaining of evil non-RE fans who unfairly hate RE7. And when it´s about RE7, that looks like to be its mono-topic.
On my side, I don´t see it made it that great, the 3.5m are a stuning value for a horror game, (an obvious result of exploiting the title of the franchise and dependency of the VR market free of competence), however, RE7 sold less than the previous main installment, so there is a pack of RE fans who did not bought the game. But there are also an increment of sales in Europe (which was where the game sold most)
+ so they sold more units in a country than before, that means that there are new fans who bought this game.
- But if the game after those new fans, still got lower sales, that means that there are also more fans that did not buy the game (obviously noticed in Japan).
The RE fans who didn´t buy the game, are not just the difference of sales between the previous installments and the new one, but higher than that. (An even without numbers, when RE7 was launched, some people manifested their love for it, but checking the profiles of those people, a lot of them lacking of RE fandom background, but more horror tastes, so it was clear the way it was going).
And over that, we include the VR owners who bought the game to can play with the VR as there are not any other decent VR game, and again, the sales were lower, then there are more people who also "went out" so the new VR owners "come in". I won´t say that it was the million of VR users (that´s ridiculous as there are a lot of RE fans in PS4), but indeed, I´m sure that there is another pack of new VR fans that replaced more RE fans that left.
So I put in doubt that the deceived RE fans were a minority. (A minority that could provide other 3.5 millions...) If Capcom want to make a separation of the franchise and provide the numbered titles as horror games is not a fool thing, is up to them. But would be fool is ignore that market that they had and they are loosing. (What is totally opossite to the market plan that they had been promoting during 4 years).
Perhaps, the minority are the non-RE7 fans who still dedicate some time to speak about it. Like always, the masses are logically silent.

HHH FINNALLY! more gameplay, im so excited for Not a Hero and the Zoe DLC I hope she pulls a Elsa and gets ice powers to fight the mold with xD

IKR the most disgusting shit i ever seen xD OH and it took em a DLC to bring in new enemies (which doent even look new just reused and mashed up with other parts) like really WHY NOT BRING ZOMBIES BACK  ? ugh ;__;

This might be the ONE game that I never get to play that's RE simply because - I used to look at it hyped up wanting to play it, but now I think about it and just go "Nyeeh..."(I just left a reference there that I HOPE somebody gets but probably won't XD)
- It IS true that they're milking the ABSOLUTE HELL out of this, and it's making my FIRST reason worse and worse.
- Thinking about the replayability & the game altogether, how it goes... I did not care that it was first person, I was still hyped and EVERYTHING but now... I just feel some type of way. I can't explain a lot of myself regarding this properly, but it's just feeling rougher and rougher..

i didn't pay at that game at all. I watch some youtubers playing and yeah too much way Outlast vibe !!!
RE7 is pretty much kills franchise and i prefer to just pretend that game ended in RE 6.
btw. RE7 wins a best VR game in Golden Joystick Awards. So next Re games gonna be VR !!!
