I don't have 3ds max so im using blender with the script and the only tutorial isn't very good i put a character model together with different pieces from multiple models so i also need a tutorial for setting up the textures with the character. If anyone could help me out or direct me to a tutorial for blender that would be seriously awesome.
Thanks in advance for any help

Don`t waste your time with the Blender script it has a huge issue. If you use it for RE 6 the hands loses their rig and get invisible after exporting, no matter what you do. The only Mesh that works correct is Sherry Asia, all others i tested lose their hands.
So if you want to change the Heads only, or change enemies go ahead and use the script, if you want full characters with hands you have to use 3ds Max. And because the only with the script working 3ds Max versions aren't sold for years, it is impossible to legal make mods if you haven`t bought it a long time ago.
A list of the charackters that don`t work correct with the Blender Script
-All of Helenas Outfits (Asia,Usa,Omake)
-Leon Asia and Usa
-Sherry Europe and Omake
-Ada and Ada Omake
-Carla
-Rochelle
And i doubt that the other ones work either...
Sorry for my bad english...

actually, try first with blender 2.75. i have discussed this with Akeinu and i dunno if this would also work for you nickru58, but i have this blender version and hands worked for me in-game. though with camera angles that gets pretty far from the model, the hands would disappear. if you're ok with that or was planning on modding mercenaries models, i think this can work for you.

Yeah after testing again and again some of the characters i listed might work, like Helena Usa but making a flawless mod is really hard to achieve and you need a huge load of luck. Like Aman said the script is really raw and has a lot of issues. invisible Hands, damage textures along the seams, crashing while export because of bone weight problems with some external models and really strange lighting sometimes.
You can make nice mods with Blender but it depends on what charackter you want to mod and what new charackter model you want to swap over the carackter.

I want to replace Chris and Piers Asia and Europe with a model i got off of xnalara deviant art Then your first step should be to check how many textures your xnalara model have. If it has more then one Texture for the Body, you should start combining them. That will make the modding process easier and protects you from some export errors with Blender. If you don`t know how to combine Textures, just google tutorial Videos on youtube. There are plenty in alot of languages. (Watching one is enough they are normally around 30 minutes.) If you have completed this part, or just don`t have to do it, because your Xnalara mesh have only one texture, then you can start with the Blender part. Generally you should at least watch a basic interface or beginner tutorial for Blender and a tutorial about rigging/ weight paint (again Youtube is your friend) After that it should be easy for you to follow the instructions that Aman has written in his Blender Import/Export Script Thread. If you encounter any specific problems, report them here as detailed as possible.

you're the man Akeinu.XD Generally you should at least watch a basic interface or beginner tutorial for Blender and a tutorial about rigging/ weight paint (again Youtube is your friend) ^THIS. can't stress enough how important this is. sometimes it's even more applicable to learn how to do weights manually. a lot of stray bone weights get mixed up somewhere in the mesh, and you go looking for a needle in a haystack(imagine a foot bone's influence end up in the armpit area of your mesh). though it's still a case to case basis about imported models(sometimes). it would be cool if a lot of blender users could get around to contributing some inputs about using blender for modding, like Akeinu here.;3
