Bet it annoys you that when you change costumes to a modded file, it screws things up because it's loading assets from another model. For instance, loading Billy's suit loads the suit model, with the default head and hand files. It's annoying because we were hoping the extra costumes could be moddable slots for a multitude of different characters. But Capcom screwed us over by making the costumes share model pieces. What if I told you there was a way around this...? In NativePC/arc/costume there are two files, costume_eu.arc and costume_us.arc. You only need one because you can simply copy and rename the file since they're both the same file. After extracting the arc, you're presented with some files. We'll be looking at em95.0BCF07BD (the real extension is .pcos). Open your file in a hex editor and you'll be presented with something that looks like this; I labelled it for your convenience. 05 - Player (05 is Billy/Wesker, 02 is Rebecca) 95 - Body model AB - Head model 0E - Left Hand 0F - Right Hand 00 - Unknown (I've seen this number set for other models, but I'm unsure what it does, yet)
By changing these numbers the corresponding em## file will be loaded. AB was originally 09 but I changed it to an em file that didn't exist. Naturally, it crashes the game... BUT, if you create your own emab file (with .mod and .mrl named properly and in the right folder), I tried it again. And this time it loaded! With this, you can tell the game to load completely new .mod files without replacing any of the originals!
Try it out on the DLC files, if you'd like.

Happy modding!

whenever I use this, I somehow remove the costume from the costume select menu....
I like the idea of this stuff though, but i guess I don't understand how to use it

Hey mate, fairly new to this. When you say create .mod and .mrl files, how would I do that exactly?
