I've been successfully able to change the textures of Characters. But I'm having problems in changing Leon's hair color. Here's what I did: I've extracted the textures from, up|00HeadLeonUsa/Asia up|00AcHeadLeonUsa/Asia up|Tex0000_0/1/2 up|Tex0010_0/1/2/3 These are the hair related textures I can find from these ".arc" files: 1] pl000_00hair_sft2_MM.dds 2] pl0000_50_hair_MVTF.dds 3] pl0000_00hair_MM.dds 4] pl0000_00hair_BM.dds 5] pl0000_00hair_NM.dds Now I've changed the hair color to brown. Changed 1, 2, 3 textures to brown color- these textures look like specular maps. I haven't changed NM [Normal map] texture.
But, no matter what I do- the hair still becomes white-blondish whenever light falls on it during gameplay. And in cutscenes it's fine or less noticeable. Here are some previews:
Lights during gameplay makes it white/ blonde type.
You can notice a little brown in few areas.
But in most of the cutscenes, his hair looks brown just like I wanted. In some cutscenes, the white/blonde effect is noticeable but not much as during gameplay.
Am I doing something wrong? Or this is how the game renders his hair?
Or maybe the normal map is messing up with the lights? Having the hair color as the last screenshot during all the scenes [including gameplay] would be great. I'm sick of blonde hair. Brown hair makes him look more like RE2.
Thank you.

Hi SAMI ,well the texture that you have to edit are: 1.pl0000_00hair_BM.dds 2.pl0000_00hair_MM.dds But,if you want to make his hair more brown, just darken the pl0000_00hair_MM.dds.The MM texture indicates the "lightness/darkness" of the textures ingame. The original MM is a bit bright,so the BM texture (Leon's brown hair) looks blonde ingame, because the MM texture "lightens" it.So if the MM texture is dark, the BM texture will looks dark too.(the result,Leon's hair will look darker ingame.) Hope this helps.

Okay, it worked. This is the result by darkening the MM texture: In my first attempt, I changed only the color of the MM texture. Thought it would reflect brown color since it's a specular map. But looks it still reflects white color. Anyway, this was the texture I used at first: Thanks leon S. Kennedy

verdugo7 , Yes, they are specular maps indeed. Usually, specular map reflects the color it has when light falls on it. In this case- brown color. In other games, it works just fine and reflects the color of the specular map. But here, it still reflected white color even though the specular map texture was brown in color. This maybe due to the way MT Framework works. The normal maps are different too- maybe that's the reason these specular maps are only reflecting white color because these maps work differently in this engine/ atleast in this game. I'm going to experiment more on the specular map with different colors to check if it's really limited to black/white or it supports other color.

SAMI I think the MM only reflects white lights, because every MM textures in RE6 are just black and white.

SAMI I think the MM only reflects white lights, because every MM textures in RE6 are just black and white. I know. But it didn't reflect brown color when I changed the specular map to brown. You can see the screenshot in my first post where Leon's hair reflected only white color even though I changed the color of Specular map to brown. I'm testing with blue color now, if it does reflect blue color- only then we can know if it supports color.

Okay, tested. Seems like colored specular maps don't reflect colored lights. Here's the specular map I used for testing: And this is the result: A tiny bit of the purple color can be seen- but is it really for the texture, or it's just the lighting that caused a little blue reflection? [See the 2 images at right side near the fire after bus accident].

to change the color you only have to edit the bm one to change the level of details and effects mm and bump nm the mvtf is the wet effect don´t mess with it!

Hi again friend, well in Leon's campaign,I'm using the debug model, but in the USA chapter (cavern, when you fight the shark monster),we should get wet.But in there Leon's body, legs, gloves, except his head and arms are missing. Is this because of they don't have MVTF textures?

yes verdugo7 that model was made to mercenaries. i think it would be a dlc. So if I just make a ".mvtf" texture for that model, will it work? Or it's not that simple? Because I can't get the normal map, spec map work with the RE2 Leon model [which is playable in mercenaries]

i´m not sure about how this work, i think you have to wrap the texture in the model in 3dmax, not throw the texture inside the folder then repack1
