Claire's crush on Neil doesn't exist in the original Japanese script. It was something that was added in by the localization team. If you want an example, in the Japanese version, Claire doesn't spaz out at Moira when the latter talks about her suspicion of Neil being a traitor. Also, a few other things got downplayed in the English translation, like Alex's pseudo-incestuous feelings for Albert and her staff/followers' deep reverence towards her. You could probably check out Project Umbrella for more info. That's Newsbot's site and he does accurate fan translations of the JP source materials for all the RE games. Now that's very interesting! I suppose the Japanese script is the "true vision" of the developers? The Japanese script was the one written by the original storywriters in Japan, so yes. The translators for the series have a history of changing, omitting and fudging up details. Project Umbrella has most of the story files from the other games accurately translated from the JP script. You can check it out for yourself. I don't think the REV 2 section is up yet though, but Newsbot has little bits and pieces of translated info posted on other forums. Also, there's a tie-in manga for REV2 called "Biohazard Heavenly Island". Not sure if that's been translated yet, but it also deals with Alex and Spencer's experiments apparently.

Except that even in the Japanese file, it outright says that Alex and Albert are not related and that Albert is referred to as a 'brother-like figure' in the sense of their shared past experiences/circumstances of the Project (camaraderie, so to speak). Here's the actual line bolded from the Japanese file for reference on this exact point if you're curious: しかし、アルバート様は、クリス・レッドフィールドと争い、壮絶な最期を遂げてしまう。 血のつながりこそないが、同じ境遇を持つ二人…いわば兄のような存在であるアルバート様の死が、聖母様…いや、アレックス様に、深い悲しみと孤独をもたらした。 彼の訃報を聞いたアレックス様は、私を呼び出し告げたのだ。 Not even the first time things regarding the Project and both Weskers were modified - the cutscene with Spencer in 5 was tweaked in English as well, the final result is fairly close but it fails to get across as to how much Spencer is belittling and insulting Albert (and Alex at a point). The staff and the like were calling Alex and things like "Goddess" or "Our Holy Lady" and all sorts of stuff, but things along these lines being completely cut out aren't exactly anything new in the series. It's not just the localization of the game itself being outright honestly shit in points, it's that a lot of things were needlessly cut as well and it changes the entire thematic tone of certain things which for the most part in this title are detrimental to Alex. That said, I could complain about these things for quite some time. :/

I've read about some of the changes/minstranslations in 5, but they were made in documents only(?). The dialogue seemed to be first written in english and translated to japanese like in the case of 1,2,3 and maybe 4 and CV, but this, even with the changes reeks of japanese school of writing from a mile away and it does the game no favors (but then again not many things do, so it's not that surprising...).

You're not offending anyone but it's immature to judge his character based on the way he dresses, extra costumes or not. Would you call Sheva "slutty" because all of her extra costumes have skirts and a cleavage? I doubt it, you're more likely to refer to her as "hot" or "sexy". CAPCOM realized there's a demand for "sexy" skins for men too, that's why Chris has been getting those. Thats why I wrote" i know they don`t really count because it don`t represent his taste in clothing, but......" there are plenty of other reasons why i think he is gay. And yes i wouldn't call Sheva slutty, there's nothing slutty wearing a bikini. biostar : Biohazard Heavenly Island first issue is at least in european languages translated and released, I have buyed the german issue, but the second will be released only in 5 or 6 months. Anyway i have read the second Manga in japanese, but until now there wasn't any info about Alex Wesker, and Spencer was just mentioned on 2 or 3 Pages in the first Manga.
