Seeing as the game cube Remake of RE, RE0 and RE4 have been released for the PC, I get the impression that Capcom might want to do the same for RE2 and RE3. Is this likely? I mean, Windows 10 will be out in four days and I don't know if it's going to be able to support games as old as 2 and 3. They worked on Windows 7 and 8. I tested them myself, but I'm skeptical of their chances on the latest OS.
I would say that HD remakes are in order. If anything the graphics do need to brought up to modern specs and possibly even the game files themselves. What do the rest of you think?

Well, there are already threads discussing the possibility of remakes, so unless this brings something new to the table it's existance is rather pointless. So instead of remakes maybe we should talk about whether or not Capcom should go the square enix route and release teir classic games exactly as they were (ffVII, tomb raider '96, etc.), only working on modern hardware, which i'm actually in favor of.

I'd actually love that! They already released Sourcenext version in japan witch included uncompressed cutscenes withouth black "cinematic" bars and win7 support. There is a partial english patch for it but you'd be required to buy the original and the sourcenext release in order to benefit from the patch, I'll pass.

I have the original pc ports of the first 3 games, but it's a pain to get them to work. But once I mannaged that i found that these games hold up quite well after all this time (well 1 and 2 at least). So it would be nice if they got an official rerelease so more people can experience them.

From what I have read they are definitely considering a RE2 remake now, its already officially been pitched to the guys in charge and basically all it needs is a greenlight. Given the success of Resident Evil HD remaster recently it seems that the chances of that greenlight are much higher but I get the feeling that they are going to wait on the RE0 HD remaster comes to see how successful it will be before giving the go ahead to the RE2 HD remaster.
With a RE2 HE remake its going to have to be built from the ground up unlike the latest 2 released by them so I think they are trying to be cautious, now as for a RE3 remake I have not seen anything from Capcom on it so I doubt we will be seeing a game for it anytime soon. Maybe if after the RE2 remake comes out and capcom makes a buttload of money off of it, Ideally I would have loved it if they had just remaked both RE2 and RE3 into one game called "Resident Evil Destruction or Racoon City" or somehting.

They'd probably make more money if they released them separately, but I like the idea, too.

If they put the 2 & 3 remakes together they'd no doubt slap on a big 69.99$ price tag or at this rate 79.99$ So either way it's a win win for them. But no doubt your right as separately they can budget them and if if RE 2 Remake is successful then they'd would probably remake the third one.

I'm just sitting here, waiting for the Veronica HD pc release.. Wouldn't that be nice! I've been playing it and outside of the perpetually respawning enemies have really been enjoying it. I hope one day Capcom eventually has all the major RE titles released on PC.

My guess/hope is that they will release RE2, it'll sell well, they'll eventually do the same for RE3, it'll sell well, and then one day they'll think about doing CVX. It'll take forever, but hopefully our patience will ultimately pay off.

I also doubt they'd remake it. I do, however, think they'll likely end up releasing it at some point.
