What is up with modding characters where they don't belong ? i would like to respectfully ask modders to return to modding characters to the games they actually belong in. it's getting to the point where i don't use half the mods i used to because the particular modded characters don't belong in the games they are created for. am i the only one who feels this way ? in other words, it's getting kind of old, and stupid.... respectfully Haha.

Well, in case you missed it, that is the beauty of modding. You can do numerous "cross-overs" on your own and not wait for some "official" game that has it... MvC game series for example. Plus, many people make those mods for their own pleasure and then decide to release it anyway. That's one of the upsides of modding, anyway.

Crossover mods are exactly what they are. People do as they please for fun and giggles when importing a character from another game series into the RE series. Even then people can get creative and combine crossover models and take the body of a character model like Solid Snake and put the head of an RE character like Chris Redfield from RE5 as an example. People can even make skins based around other game characters.
The potential of crossover model imports allow modders to make some really neat skins and hell even mod an entire campaign for a different experience if they are ambitious. So no they are in anyway getting old, nor are they necessarily stupid as you said. If you don't like them, don't download them or open your gob and make a thread questioning the value of such mods as is it highly subjective. In the end if what we want does not exist, we have to make it ourselves.

I wasn't disrespecting modders at all they can do what they want, i guess I'm just the only one that has the guts to tell it like it is, it's getting old. and I'm sure there are at least a dozen people who agree with me but just won't say anything about it. i mean no disrespect at all. but it is what it is.

i think this is just a matter of taste. i only get a mod if it fits cool in the game! i personaly don´t like cartoon character or weapons like quake! but is my taste nothing against who likes!

Question: You say you like nude mods, but you have issues with mods that have characters from different games? Would you kindly explain, because I fail to see logic here?

Stating what you think is old has nothing to do with "guts". It's your opinion and the opinion of a few others which is totally fine but in all honesty, saying something is "getting old" is hardly gonna stop people, particularly modders from doing as they please. If you'd like to see more of certain mods, why not make a request or make some mods yourself? Also maybe the mods that are being released lately are due to requests. With the recent release of model import tools for RE4 HD, there is probably gonna be more crossover models as many there are modders who are excited to mess with the tools.

LOl i think i have been totally misunderstood here. #1 i mentioned "with respect" twice in my first comment. and the first few responses i got were that maybe i aught to show modders more respect, that doesn't make any sense at all. just because i gave an opinion doesn't mean I'm being disrespectful. and i certainly didn't mean for this to turn into what it has turned into MY GOD how sensitive we are here lol. I'm not opening this thread with intent to try and tell modder's what to do with their mods, where to put there mods, or tell them how they should go about modding anything. all i was suggesting is that "it would be nice" if they would "consider" balancing their mods so that people have better choices on particular mods and how they fit in games. it's fine if they want to place different character's in games they don't belong to i really don't mind. but it seems that's all they are doing lately and there are not many mods to choose from for people like myself who prefer to keep characters in their games that they belong to. unfortunately i know nothing about how to go about the modding business i have tried to have a look into it and it just seems to complicated for me to even comprehend everything involved even for someone as smart as i am. some people just have a natural gift for doing it. but the vision i have for mods in my head i guarantee you if i ever was able to learn how to do it' i would be one of the very best at it. i hear some of the terminology of modding and it's just like a foreign language to me i start thinking to myself what in the world are these guys talking about lol. anyways, i didn't mean to offend anyone if i did, my strongest apologies go out to them. I'm dropping this subject.

I think the forum already breaks down mods into sections so you can find mods more to your taste. There is "Model modification" (which no doubt is full of imported new models and cross over mods) and "Reskin modification" Perhaps that is what you are more looking for?

"i would like to respectfully ask modders to return to modding characters to the games they actually belong in." I don't see a suggestion in your original post ... It's almost like a command even. It's not as if you were requesting different mods with characters fitting the game, you're asking modders to stop doing what they're doing. Contradiction ! Don't feel any hostility in this post btw, not my intention
