If anyone is interested, I have found a method for replacing character audio with custom audio. I spent a lot of time searching for a working method online before I figured this out so if there is someone else that has mentioned this or knows of a better way, then my apologies but seeing nothing of the sort myself I have decided to share my findings.
The method is pretty simple, instead of creating your own audio and attempting to add that directly into Revelations via the nativePC\sound\stream\voice\ENG\cp folder (or equivalent if you speak another language) you simply take an existing audio file and edit it with the audio you want (after backing up the original of course).
Say you were using the Wesker replaces Morgan mod and you wanted to replace Morgan's Raid intro dialogue ("I'd hate to have to get my hands dirty" or 1_cp_28_0.sngw) with some custom Wesker dialogue, all you would need to do is:
1. Open the original file in audacity (again, after backing it up)
2. Mute the original track (you could possibly just delete it as well, but I have yet to try it)
3. Add your custom Wesker dialogue to the Audacity project
4. Set new dialogue to "Mono" and "16 bit PCM" to match original dialogue (this step may not be necessary, but it works for me) Edit: Further testing shows this step is necessary.
5. Export the file as a .OGG file
6. Manually change it to a .SNGW type and place back in the nativePC\sound\stream\voice\ENG\cp folder
From there start the game and it should play properly. Here is the exact file described above with custom dialogue and screenshot of audacity to use as a reference: www.megafileupload.com/en/file/557424/1-cp-28-0-zip.html
Backup the original and then drop it in nativePC\sound\stream\voice\ENG\cp and fire up Raid mode as Morgan to test it out. It works perfectly for me.
This method certainly needs a lot more testing, but I believe it should work with the commands dialogue, coop specific dialogue and even character damage/attack sounds.
If anyone has more information to offer here or a better system please share. I'd love to see some new life brought into this game with more great mods so hopefully this is useful to someone in that endeavor.
