Real Weapon Names for RE2R
Note: there is a person out there stealing mods (sometimes from this forum!), going as far as copying some of this mod's updates and deleting comments exposing him. It sucks for people who actually put in the work, but it is what it is. Just know that this one is the original, made with love since 2017
This mod replaces every instance of weapon, weapon parts and ammunition names in the game. This affects in-game names and descriptions, as well as rewards screen and records screen.
Both RT Patch and DX11 builds are supported. All languages are supported except Arabic and Thai.
We tried to find the closest real-life match of every weapon and ammo. Some completely fictional weapons like the Spark Shot were left untouched. A couple textures were also edited to remove incorrect or fictional markings, such as the Flash Grenade.
We tried to make it feel as professional, seamless and immersive as possible, while also being consistent with the coming RE3R and RE4R versions of this mod.
To keep this mod as immersive and high quality as possible, it's separated into two support tiers:
- Extra support for English, French, German and Italian. Each and every name and descriptions were edited one by one by native speakers of these languages. In addition, ammo names were also replaced.
- Standard support for every other language, except Arabic and Thai. The only difference is that ammo names are not replaced by real counterparts, as it would require a native speaker to do it properly. Therefore, no edits to items descriptions (eg Gunpowder) were needed.
I'm looking for native speakers to add Extra support for other languages. Don't hesitate to reach out to me and we'll make it happen!
