Hello guys so I am experimenting with some character mods and first I started with gta san andreas and it was kinda easy and had so many available guides and now im trying to import character mods into resident evil 6 but the whole thing is complicated and there are not many explicit tutorials around and I only found one video useful which is Darknessvaltier’s tutorial that has some gray areas and even that misses the second part (head part) so I was hoping maybe you guys know a thing or two and can help me in the process so let begins .

I’m using k/da all out ahri kallenz model ( smutba.se/project/32671/ ) and have cut the body and head using bisect in blender, exported them as obj and imported them in 3ds max 2012.
There are the confusing things in the video that I need to be explained and some of them are due to my lack of 3ds max experience and knowledge.
1.what is the point of create select set in 3:40 is it necessary or just for loading up the body model easily
2.what is the point of attach in 4:20? is it needed? what are the 2 things that are getting attached exactly?
3.we copy the name of mesh 81, delete the mesh and rename our body model to mesh 81 (if it’s a single model) and for mesh 85 I don’t know? should we do the same thing here too? Need explanation.
4. on 23:02 we import another 3ds body model? need some explaining here. Like for what reason and is it necessary? and what is the use of the making unique option on 23:31?
4.24:34 we select lodgroup 1to 255, select all, hide the hands or from lodgroup 1 to 252 and hide the hands? to be honest I don’t get the difference here
5. now that we hide the hands we use select all, run script, rename the groups to 0 and after that we select mesh 81 our body model and rename it to 255 using the script, now we use select all again and export it (sometimes countered error no execute function for undefined or something about maximum vertex which I want to know what caused the problem)
Now I have made a test mod with another model and these are the results (no textures applied yet).

And as you can see the hands are messed up which I guess it’s a rigging problem that can be fixed or is it related to that hiding lodgroup hands or something else?
And for the head model I don’t know how to start and what to do since there is no guide for the head part , I think Darknessvaltier uploaded a video but now its removed , so I am not asking for a video tutorial I only need a text guide that will do it for me .
