note: this only allows you to open and listen to sound files, not extract/repack them. I have no idea how to do that. I'm also assuming you know how to extract the .pak file using REtool 1. Tools to download: wwiseutil-gui.exe github.com/hpxro7/wwiseutil/releasesfoobar2000 www.foobar2000.org/downloadvgmstream (foobar2000 component) vgmstream.org/ <- install this after getting foobar2000 2. Grab a sound file from RE4R's wwise folder (re_chunk_000\natives\STM\_Chainsaw\Sound\wwise) 3. Remove whatever extension is after sbnk (ex. ch_cha0_voice_media.sbnk .1.X64.En) - also rename .sbnk to .bnk to allow Wwise Audio Utilities to read the file (should end up with something like ch_cha0_voice_media.bnk)
5. Run wwiseutil-gui.exe and open the file you just renamed
6. Export Wems to whatever folder you want
7. Run foobar2000 -> File -> Add folder, then select the folder you've exported the wems to
8. Listen
Hopefully we can get to edit audio soon...

Hi, Just some things about what you said. Since you're using wwiseutil to open the bnk/pck, you can obviously extract/replace WEMs (so that contradicts the thing you said in your "note"). Also, I did some audio mods for RE2, and I was using FusionTools by Kamzik123 (along with RingingBloom by Silvris). I never really used wwiseutil since those other tools were better imo. www.nexusmods.com/residentevil22019/mods/892github.com/Silvris/RingingBloomIt even has a built-in audio player, so no need to extract the tracks, you can listen to them directly in the tool (you don't even have to install foobar, but I think you still need vgstream). It even lets you export as WAVs, so you can edit the audio. And for converting WAVs back to WEMs, there's Audiokinetic Wwise launcher, so technically, if you can extract a valid wem from a RE4 sound bank, you can edit and put it back to have a mod. www.audiokinetic.com/en/download/I don't have a copy of RE4 on PC (yet), so I can't confirm this, but modding audio could technically be doable (I think there are already some audio mods for the game).

Okay, well this works for .wem alright, but what about all those .wav? For instance, look inside ch_cha0_voice_emo which is a bunch of .wav files. I tried installing the vgstream winamp plugin but under preferences it says plugin NOT_LOADED -- apparently this can have a variety of reasons and it's difficult to troubleshoot. Okay, so then fuck Winamp. Test foobar2000. Installed the vgstream component and it plays the .wems just fine, but it errors out on any .wav from the game. Which is very odd because their web player handles them just fine under katiefrogs.github.io/vgmstream-web/It isn't an ideal tool to go through dozens of sound files quickly however, so what do we do???

How do you get this programs to work? I keep getting this message saying I need to install .Net Core. But don't know where to get it from. It does ask me if I want to download it now, but when I click yes, nothing happens

I have, yes. Still not working. I installed SDK 7.0.203 x64, ASP.NET Core Runtime 7.0.5 hosting bundle (recommended on that site), .NET Desktop Runtime 7.0.5 x64 and .NET Runtime 7.0.5 x64. I didn't know which to go for, so went for all those XD But I still get the same message.

That could be .NET Core 3.0 or .NET Core 3.1 iirc (look in the older versions section)
