I finally finished my new weapons mod. This one is very different from the old rebalance mod even if the base idea is the same: make weaker weapons stronger.
RE8 has only one good weapon choice for each cathegory (except for magnums), everything else is just bad. And that's becouse the game is like a journey where you grind and you gradually switch to more powerful weapons. This is a cool idea but after a while I got tired of playing with the same weapons all the time, and that's why I made the rebalanced mod and now this one. The goal is to make every weapon good as an endgame weapon. This is not free thou, upgrading the "weaker" weapons is now as expensive as upgrading the top end ones. So for example: the best handgn was the v61, buying (with accessories) and fully upgrading it had a cost of 1.4 milions, so now even Lemi and the 1911 require a similar amount of money to be fully upgraded. This mod is not meant to make more powerful weapons overall, just to buff the weakest ones.
Here is what the mod does in details:
HANDGUNS:
Lemi:
power: 150 200 260 330 (+30 with the accessory)
other stats are the same.
Now Lemi is the most ammo-efficient handgun, but still with low fire rate and semi auto fire.
1911:
power: 160 190 220 260 300
capacity: 7 10 14 18 22
other stats are the same.
1911 stays between Lemi and V61: it has middle of the way power and fire rate. I increased it's capacity 'cause it was a little bit too low.
V61: unchanged. Best vanilla handgun.
samurai edge:
power 250, rate of fire 0.25, reload speed 2.6
a good starting weapon now.
USM-AI
power 270, rate of fire 0.1, reload speed 1.2
270 0.1 1.2
Not as good as the other handguns but still very solid. It's a cheap new game+ alternative. I buffed the rate of fire and that painful reload speed!
SHOTGUNS:
M1897:
power: 800 1100 1500 2000
this is now the shotgun with the highest power.
SYG-12:
power: 600 700 800 900 1000 1120 (+80 with accessories)
rate of fire: 0.65
SYG now fires incredibly fast but to balance that I lowered it's power
W870-TAC
power: 760 980 1200 1440 1770
rate of fire: 1.55 (1.35 with accessories)
reload speed: 2.7 2.5 2.2 1.9 1.5
capacity: 4 8 12 17 22
Long story short: initially this had to be the shotgun with high fire rate but that was so weird. I mean, the SYG is the semiauto one, and it is the one who should have the highest rate of fire. In addition to that, high RoF requires a large magazine and high reload speed, so SYG was perfect for that. W870 is replacing the old SYG, its final stats (power and rate of fire) are the same of the old SYG and I increased it's capacity and reload speed becouse they were too low compared to the original SYG.
SNIPER RIFLE:
power: 900 1200 1500 1800 2100 2500
upgrades cost is doubled
I am quite happy with these stats, this firepower is not insane and makes the weapon a valid choice even in new game + where you have access to the handcannon.
MAGNUMS:
they are unchanged. I think they are quite balanced. I tested the Wolfsbane and it still deals double damage, so it's power is actually 5800, while STAKE has 4500 but without the Wolfsbane drawbacks.

simply put this mod in the "mod" folder of RE8 of fluffy manager and activate it.

I have completed the game two times with this mod and so far it seems ok, I'll di more testing and see if it needs some adjustments. Any feedback would be appreciated.
I am also planning to make a reworked mode for the "special customization", although certain weapons are way too overpowered with that option on.
