I'd really like to get into it for myself, but I haven't found any kind of information on how you actually do it. Based on the extensive modding I've seen done to them, I just assumed there had to be tools somewhere for it. A lot of it just seems too complex for hex editing.
This one for example has assets added.

If there is somewhere to learn I would really appreciate any help.
